Did Albrighton leave on a free because of wages or was it genuinely Lambert showing him the door?  I found that whole episode completely and utterly ridiculous.
I felt it was probably a combination of both. According to Marc we never offered him a new deal. That said we wouldn't have offered him the terms he's apparently getting at Leicester.

And to be honest as much as he is a decent guy - he would not be worth it

I think with Pato seemingly on board at Chelsea there maybe some movement in the Remy loan and as for Townsend - not sure of his wage but they have agreed a 5 year deal OMG

I keep reading this Pato is a midfielder though. I admit, I don't know a great deal about him.

He isn't, he's a centre-forward.

Okay in the early 90s.
He would've been 3 or 4 in the early 90s? Have I missed something?

Palace want 6.5 for Gayle according to the press. A lot but might be worth it for next season.

In a world where Ross McCormack is valued at £10m, it's probably not a bad price.

Bloody hell, it's when you nod your head at posts like this you realise just how shite we have become.  Actively hoping we sign players who aren't good enough for Palace.  Jesus wept.

Exactly how I feel.

Club makes me barf.

Well that's good because apparently Swansea are in for him for £7.5m.

Only if you're not a fan of, or familiar with early 90s reggae.

Not sure what the whining is about, we've already had transfers of Ilori, Senderos, Bennett and Crespo. Probably one of the most active clubs.

And Joe Cole. EDIT - And Gary Gardner

When you think about it, that's probably conservatively £15k a week each x 6 = £90k per week = £360k per month on players who have had absolutely sod all effect on our season and no-one will even notice have gone.

Trouble is, these are all departures - where are the incoming players? Lerner's cost-cutting once again, which is the continuation of the last 5 years - and look where we'll be come May. Thanks Randy, I really like the ''Bright Future'' that you've delivered.

That's kind of my point. If we hadn't had these five players this season, would it have made any difference to the squad? If instead that £90k per week had gone to 2 more players of better quality...

So what's wrong with getting rid of the parasites within the Club?

Gabby off to Turkey, how ironic.

Never going to happen, he's here till the end of 2017/18 unless we give him a new deal which is far more likely. ::)

The nearest he'll get to Turkey is his local kebab van, which I imagine he's a regular customer.

Is it any wonder we've had no new players in, Debuchet is an example as soon as our relegation rivals get a sniff of a good player they are in like Flynn, I hope Garde has a few lined up for the last day when it is too late for other clubs to make offers or for agents to auction the player.

Sunderland likely to get Kharzi and in talks with Debuchy. Both looked like they were high up Garde's list. Bloody tough month for him. Fell very sorry for him.

So what's wrong with getting rid of the parasites within the Club?

As we've seen previously, it's not that simple.  For some reason they seem loathed to turn their backs on the hefty contracts they are on to accept less money elsewhere.  The only option then is to form a bomb squad in the hope of forcing them out.  That lasts until a new manager comes in and everyone starts afresh.  They have a few decent games before reverting back to type and find themselves back in the bomb squad again.  We've had more bomb squads in the last few years than the RAF did in World War II!
