I do not disagree with any if that Peter except I would add the words "most probably" between your won't and happen.

I take that as a compliment.because I do not know what a Yoda is.

I should have added in case a Yoda is something I should be ashamed to be and I need to embellish my case that the biggest beneficiary of the rehabilation of Benteke would be Liverpool themselves. They are the ones who have screwed up a massive outlay on a player the fans now detest.

I wouldn't say they all detest him. I had a browse on his twitter page last night (which incidentally still has background images of him in a Villa shirt) and there is stick from certain people but quite a lot of it is positive and along the lines of 'keep on going'. He hasn't tweeted anything since the end of December mind.

Lately I have been racing in the north west and mixing, uncomfortably with large numbers of scousers and faux scousers, one of whom is in the employ of an ex Liverpool player.  They know where my loyalties lie and I have been singled out for abuse for simply being an admirer of Christian Benteke so what the man himself must he getting is fairly obvious.

Whenever I have seen him playing for 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' 9 only on edited TV highlights mind) he's looked even more detached and peripheral in his contact with teammates than he did here. Maybe it's just something in his personality though and I am beginning to think CB might become the most talented journeyman of all time

Mandanda was clearly first choice. This guy must have been second.

I still can't believe they are not trying to find a way round that.

If you're still talking about the Croatian then there's definitely more to it then we know. he won't have failed a work permit appeal after an application as he wouldn't need one. So, unless there is some doubt about his nationality or how he got his nationality, there must be something seriously dodgy in his or a member of his families application to join him.

Appreciate that this is normally your area of expertise, but that's not correct - he does need a work permit.

Croatian nationals still need a permit to work in the UK (and half a dozen other countries) until July 2018. Something to do with both countries agreeing to a transitional period of freedom of movement following EU accession.

Leicester had to get one for Kramaric last January as well, so I expect that it is the work permit.

But it won't happen.

Why would Liverpool, whop are short of strikers, let their £32.5m signing go? Especially as they are chasing top 4 - however remote that may be. yes things are not working out for him but Liverpool won't just release him on loan. It's absurd to even contemplate such a move and the rationale behind it for them.

Ill take this one. They would probably let him go because their prized asset is currently sat on the bench depreciating in value. It seems their manager would rather play attacking midfielders up top or play without a striker. They are currently paying him 100 odd grand a week to be an 18stone bench weight that is offering nothing to their top four challenge. Yes, there is the hope that he could get a goal and spark into life but it hasnt happened so far - almost every goal he has scored has been self made or from a bit of luck and has been a one off. loaning him to Villa would free up wages to bring in someone else, get him firing to either bring him back into the fold next year or sell for his true value and finally, would more than likely see us pick up points off the teams around them challenging for fourth place.

Maybe he needed a Purple but Villa only completed a Blue

Would Rob Green not be a decent shout for a keeper for the rest of this season and next season if we do go down? Was just thinking out loud via my keyboard.... I'll run that one up the flag pole and see does anyone salute.....

Would he come? maybe, maybe not. If he ends playing with crap players who give him very little service how does that help him before the Euros?
Yes, anyone can make a hypothetical case for him joining but the reality is that it makes no sense for Liverpool, and more of a risk for Benteke than staying put and trying to turn it around with better players at a club that isn't a shambles.

Liverpool are going for Alex Teixeira from Shaktar.  Therefore Benteke could be surplus. What a better way for him to gain some confidence and sign us. He knows the club, the vast majority of his team mates.
We're talking about Liverpool who signed Andy Carroll for £50m. Therefore anything is possible.

You're about £15m out on that figure. Not that it's not still a fuck of a lot of money.
