If Austin wasn't keen on joining us in the summer there was very little chance of us getting now.

I'm more annoyed that we seemingly had no interest at all in Afobe.  When you look at the likes of Norwich and Bournemouth going in for him, I don't think it's entirely out of the question he could have been persuaded.

Would have been good for us this season and, worst case (but increasingly likely) scenario in the Championship next year.

Austin made it clear that he wanted to stay down South didn't he, so unlikely he would have come.  Afobe, however, was just down the road and we were linked with him in the summer.  Easy to say now on the back of two goals in two games, but quite a few people have been talking about him for a while and he was obviously on our radar.

I wanted Afobe in the summer. I think he was perfect for us then and would have been now. 9m is not a bad deal for him at all.

Eric Black? Just what we need? Really? How very underwhelming. Striker, centre mid not a has been or never was assistant. Who gives a toss about the management team? Sort the team on the pitch out first ffs.

We have to have a bit of faith in Remi though here, he turned down Moyes old coach already so he must see something in Black that makes him want him. Don't ask me what it is.
