I don't see how debuchy is an odd signing. He should be comfortably better than any of the right backs we have

He is 30, why are we attempting to sign old players again?
He may be better than what we have, although Richards is just as good in my opinion but we have more pressing concerns than right back than using up a loan option.
It is very, so what!

I did wonder if our Randy would throw a few quid around during the window but it looks like his gambling days are well and truly in the past.

It was probably an effort for him to release a few lines of mumbo jumbo about government quasi departments or something.

If the club really do want to try and stay in this division the best we can hope for this window is to bring in quality players in on loan who will have the motivation to perform well in our desperate situation. Debuchy fits that bill, as will any international hoping to play in the Euros in the summer who is currently out of the first team and needs game time.

Is the move for Debuchy any further forward or is it still just that comment from Garde and idle paper gossip?

Surely Arsene will help his old mate Remi?

30 isn't old, and for the sake of 5 months, does it matter?

He'd be better than anyone we've at right back now. But more importantly he's a first step to improving the team and could be a factor in other potential signings thinking we're worth a risk.

Plus it'll be a loan and nothing more. And he's miles better than anything else we can play there.

clearly Garde isn't going to play Richards there because he'd have played today. Debuchy is better than Richards and Bacuna so in that regard for the rest of the season an improvement.

30 isn't old for crying out loud. We need players for the here and now, and Debuchy is better than anything we've got in that position.
Get him in.

Garde wasn't exactly excited about potential signings in his TV interview, poo poo'd the Lescott deal too.

I think it was more of him keeping his cards close to his chest. Well I hope so anyway.

Everyone knows what we need but I think it'll be too late by then.

Goal scorer
Defensive midfielder x2
Left back
Goalkeeper

They don't need to be world beaters, but they need to be men & reliable Premiership performers. Not many would take Whelan or Adams from Stoke nor Huth from Leicester but they're all men & know their job. Everything in front of the defence is too lightweight, shite or both.

If we are being honest, we are probably not going to get too many in.  I would settle for a permanent signing of a keeper, a midfielder to replace Westwood in the current formation and a striker with some pace.

Debuchy I would put in the category of Veretout, Okore, Gana, Ayew as the Indians in the team, steady, decent players but we need a few leaders and game changers.

Interesting if we get Sane and Debuchy, if Sane is played in front of the back 4 and Gueye moved into where Westwood is. I hope not, because Gueye has had his best 2 games for months back to back in front of the back 4. At least it gives options.

Desperately need a couple of forward though, one wide and pacey, one to score through the middle.
