Completely. I can't understand the lack of a massive queue of players lining up to sign 3 or 4 year contracts to join an odds-on favourite to be relegated. What are they thinking!?

I understand LTA frustration, it's the 16th we've made no signings and to be honest a Chairman who came in and pissed on our bonfires regarding spending money.
The hierarchy of the club do seem to have  given up the ghost.
That's not being negative for the sake of it, we needed players for Sunderland not West Brom.

We are bottom of the table, seven points off the next team, eight off safety. We have a chump of an owner who has just employed an axe wielding chairman and we struggle against teams like Wycombe. That's how I know we are a farce.

As for the Charlie Austin to Southampton link that's what The Telegraph are reporting.

I'm very interested to see if we can get any business done at all this window. If we don't we are almost certainly down, they will know this.

Well they are trying. We'll just have to be patient I suppose.

More jam tomorrow, only the jam we get promised turns out to be shit sandwiches.

What do you suggest then, we just go and sign anybody?

Whatever has happened there is no way Austin is going to choose us over Southampton, given the league positions of both clubs.
No contest for him.

Sorry, have you got two usernames then?

The point I was making was how do we know we haven't tried to sign him, only to be told no thanks because he's clearly got better offers on the table.

Your subsequent rant explains why that would be the case.

The thought did cross my mind. We could do worse.

Sorry if you want a private conversation with a board member try sending them a message.

God knows if we were or not after Austin. Being bottom of the table means we have got to work harder than other clubs to sign players. It does stick in the craw a bit when we are half way through January and have signed nobody when we desperately need quality players, especially a striker like Charlie Austin.

Debuchy incoming so that's one in at least.

How badly run are QPR though, at least we got good money for Benteke even if we failed at everything else.

Maybe Pelle is on his way, which would be a  substantial overall downgrade for Southampton.

You can experiment a bit though when they're safely in mid table.
