I think that's most likely true.

Which is why I said (to people at work) at the start of the week that this was our perhaps final chance of getting out. Get 6 points, or just show some signs of life, then bag a player or two before end of window and give it one last push. We have 3 of the 6, and 4 wouldn't be a disaster IMO, but if w're withing 4 or 5 points of a couple of rivals it starts to look doable again, and may change a few potential signings minds.

If we are going to give it a real go between now and the end of the season it has to be mainly loan deals, with perhaps one or two astute signings with a view to next season without paying over the odds.

I would try and get a couple of loans in to try and stabilise even if staying up is beyond us.

That's possibly most likely the case. Besides, there's no point in just signing just anybody for the sake of it.
