Ayala and Clayton from Middlesbrough, granted they're going up but even at our worst and them at their best were still a much bigger draw, Hughes from Derby, Armstrong from Newcastle.... 4 players who would instantly improve our first team in yhe championship and be ready for the premier league if we go up, I'd take Walters though for a couple of seasons too.

We aren't going to get many players who are regulars for the top champion ship clubs, next year we will be paying championship money, they'd be better off staying put. They might get PL money next year.

So you want two players who are about to go up to the prem to join us to go to the championship?

Just to back Luke up, when teams get promoted they generally lose one or two players.
Pick the best of these players up.
Derby have Bryson, Kendrick, Keogh for instance that would automatically improve us in Championship.

It's the Peter Principle innit - players get the team promoted and are then not good enough to play in the level they've been promoted to.

Yup - apart from their strikers and goalkeeper, Watford bought pretty much an entire new team over the summer.

This is something that's been bugging me, namely the 'buy for next season' argument that seems to be thr favoured approach among many fans. What's the point in trying to buy players to win the Championship who won't be good enough in the Premier League this season? Surely if they're good enough to be in the top division the season after next, they'll be decent enough to give survival a go now?

People want us to go out and by Sam Byram, Patrick Bamford on loan, ready for next season.
If you added the likes of Jordan Cousins, Jake Bissell next season we'd have a fighting chance.
We all agree that this squad of chancers ain't getting us out The Championship.
Typical player too good for Championship, not good enough for Premier is Liam Bridcutt.

Or say, Rudy Gestede. Or Ciaran Clark. Or Alan Hutton. Or Scott Sinclair.

Well, it's now the 12th and we have sold (?) Cole to Cov, and done fuck all else. Exactly when does the transfer window close?

I can see Sinclair scoring alot of goals in the championship.

Sinclair has no desire really does he, football was just a means to a goal of making money and now he has some he doesn't look like he's that interested. Not the kind of player we want in a fight, which next season it will be.
