Where did you read that? I know he was offered a chance a couple of years back to join Portland who also off course signed another ex-Villa with Paul McGrathesque skills, Liam Ridgewell.

Snap their hands off.  He's been a very poor signing.

I don't think there would many tears if this was true however the source of the story seems a little off the wall. Not saying it couldn't be correct. If we are selling these players, fine, but let's ensure that we players in place to come in. Not like we have exactly been lucky at the CB spot with injuries in the past few seasons.

I agree, it depends who we have coming in. He has been a disappointment but still been a shade better than Clark and Richards at CB this season. If we have a good experienced player coming in instead let him go, otherwise keep him and play him alongside Okore with Richards RB

I quite like Lescott. I thought he was excellent in the second half at Newcastle and the home game with West Ham. He was poor at Sunderland but having shown Defoe on the outside Guzan should never have let it in at the near post.

To be fair, Lescott did everything right with that goal, but it did show that he's lost that bit of pace as Defoe side stepped him to get the shot away. Defoe is still no slouch mind, and as you say, it was Guzan more to blame for letting it past his near post. Had Richards been in that position he would have dived in stupidly and taken himself out of the game.

He certainly played well v West Ham.

Maybe, just maybe, Guzan was under the misapprehension that having shown Defoe the outside that Lescott would follow through on his centre half duties and prevent a shot on goal. Maybe.

Although there are a small handful that I'd like to keep, I really wouldn't lose any sleep over selling any of this squad.

I think about 4 I would be disappointed to see go.  The rest can do one.

I'd be disappointed if we lost any of Ayew, Vertout, Grealish, Troare, Amavi and Gana.

That's the potential of a decent side right here. The rest are a total waste of space.

Just watched Gillingham vs Wigan, Bradley Dack looked a handy little player at lower level, could pick a very fine pass and good first touch.

Is a very neat little player.  Plays at the tip of the diamond and scores a decent number of goals.  All this is in the 3rd Division though, so there is the question mark about his ability to make the step up to the Championship.

Not being able to play two games in quick succession is going to be problematic if we are in  the Championship next season.  I would like to see some consistency in selection in defence going forward.
