Anyone take Kevin Nolan?

Delivered to Villa Park in his coffin? He's finished mate, ask any West Ham fan he is completely shot.

Agreed. In the same boat as Lescott and Richardson, Cole and Senderos.
And from what we've seen this season, Richards, Hutton and Guzan.

Why does Hutton always get thrown in with comments like this?  He's been one of the few players who has been pretty good for us over the last two years.
The subsequent comments from tomd, Goldie and Chicago Lion are pretty much why I lumped him in with Richards and Guzan, chris.
I think he does work hard and gets into some good positions going forward but his decision making and delivery are consistently poor.
Defensively he gives his man too much room - eg: Cresswell v WHam, Sunderland throughout the game on Saturday. He SHOULD be better but he just isn't, and as a senior professional he should be one of the leaders on the pitch, the most solid and reliable, not the one getting involved in petty scraps, giving away stupid free-kicks and getting booked needlessly.

I honestly think Hutton has been our worst player (of the regulars) this season, he works his tits off getting up and down the pitch but when he gets there he's useless at both ends.  I've said it before but I'm convinced his pathetic positioning in defence has cost us more goals than anything else this season, he's been responsible for 3-4 over christmas/new year alone.

Case in point, other than West Ham and Sunderland, was when that Newcastle player should have made it two. An overhit cross and Hutton makes no effort to get out to the ball. He's done it more than once in games I've seen where rather than going out he looks around for someone else to do it. But, seeing as its so basic I do wonder if its orders. That he has to stay tight and not leave Richards.

Leicester City have signed Birmingham City winger Demarai Gray after meeting a £3.7m release clause in his contract.

so thats not a bad price for potential

It is a bargain for 3.75m.

All you Guzan haters will be in for a shock if you think it will make much difference

Unless we sign Loris or Petr Czech any goalkeeper playing in from of our fumbling defence will make just as many mistakes
someone on here the other day was saying getting rid of Guzan could save us 10-20 points your living in la la land if you believe that,
no goalkeeper is perfect, and I guarantee any new goal we bring in will make a few cock ups that you could argue will cost us points, like Guzan

if we sign a average prem keeper it will make zero difference only cost us an extra few million

As a minimum Guzan needs time out of the firing line. His confidence is irreparably fucked as it stands.

It will make a massive difference.  Knowing that there is unsteady keeper behind them can unnerve defences and it can often result in confusion.  And the there is of course his distribution.

Not forgetting his role in the second goal at Norwich and getting caught out and giving a penalty away against Arsenal.

It will make fuck all difference if we bring in someone like Rob Green or anyone like him for 3-5 mill
I give it two games max before the first 'have we signed Guzan mk2' goes up in the match thread

I can't agree, Guzan is 2nd on my shit list for the season and again it's poor positioning that's to blame, he's been caught out too many times, add to that the poor distribution and then the expected mistakes (which i agree all keepers make) and he has little going for him right now.  I don't think 10-20 points is fair but I would say basic errors from, in order, Hutton, Guzan, Clark and Richardson (with a handful from Richards, Okore and Amavi as well) have probably cost us about 20-25 goals.  Over an entire season that's poor, over 20 games it is relegation form and that's exactly where it's got us.

I agree with the distribution, if anyone wants him gone because of his kicking I say fair enough, especially if you think that's going to make a big difference

But I've seen him play good games where he's made one or two minor slip ups (not the big fuckers like man city) and he's been killed on the match thread,
which just goes to prove to me that a lot of people just talk a whole load of bollocks about him, and any goalkeeper we bring on would be basically the same

If he's your second priority, your going to be one disappointed man on here when things don't get a lot better with a new man doing much the same, maybe with a bit better kicking

Perhaps not but at least we shall have the satisfaction of seeing a problem being acknowledged and something being done about it.

The alternative is, to coin a phrase, we go again.

I'd rather go again with Guzan than Rob Green or the likes though

Smart business by Leicester to sign Gray for peanuts really in Premier League terms. So they have Demari Gray and Mark Albrighton for a combined fee of £3.7M. Still, we can look at Kevin Nolan....

I don't think we've been linked with Kevin Nolan by any credible source.
