Er excuse me but it aint ridiculous ffs bournemouth had a fuckin player signed three days before window opened. The usual villa fans acceptance of shit again .garde has been here two months and should have lined up players on 00.01 of the window opening, spose more panic buys at 11.30 on jan 31st it is then ffs I give up.

I must have hallucinated all those signings in way before "the window slammed shut" in the summer then.

The only signing of recent times that I can remember being anything like that late was Cleverley last summer.

The club Bournemouth were buying off were most likely happy to do a deal and the player in question was willing to leave. It's not as easy as just going out and signing someone. There needs to be a willing seller and a player willing to move.

I know Garde has mentioned the need to move some players out, and various posters on here have said the same re shipping out players now or in the summer, but how many (if any) are out of contract by the summer? Not many I think, and so unless we spunk a shed load of money to get rid of the dead wood, I fear we will start next season with pretty much the same shit set of players as we started this one. A Wigan/Bolton scenario anyone?

Cole, Richardson, Senderos and N'zogbia are all out of contract in the summer, which should surely save a fair bit of money. Hopefully the likes of Agbonlahor, Richards and Guzan will also be on the way out.

With that lot off the wage bill we'd have finally got it down to an acceptable level, sadly though we'll be in the Championship. Talk about a false economy!

Richards contracted till 2019,Agbon till 2018 and Guzan till 2017, so we will have to pay them off if we can't get someone to sign them.

It's not just about what we do, though, is it?

It is about getting clubs to agree deals with us and then talking to players.

Garde might have presented a list on his first day with us, but that means nothing, it is also dependent on clubs other than us.

I could see takers for Richards (especially if he admits he is a rubbish CB and moves back to RB) and there is always the otion of Guzan going back to the MLS.  I'm afraid we're stuck with Gabby unless he gets a massive offer from some team in the Middle East or China.

Did you not know, we should have all players ready on the North Stand car park, kit bag in hand ready to sign. Other clubs getting their targets etc, or haggling on fees etc is completely immaterial. A transfer in January is even tougher as clubs really don't want to let players go.

Being linked with a french lad playing for Braga, who sounds like he has self picked his name for a career in the adult industry.
