Start at the back and  move up.  A keeper Marshall of Cardiff or Heaton of Burnley.

Would have a proper punt Sam Byrom of Leeds.

Two forwards both  of  whom know where the goal is - Gray of Burnley and Austin.  The fall back reserve  would be  Naysmith of Everton.

I would try anything right now.

The problem is negotiating contracts  with prospective players knowing we  are just about kaput.

The other problem to consider is that Neither Garde or his staff will have a scooby doo on talent in the lower leagues or suitable players to get us out of the Championship. He will be relying on our transfer committee which of course has an exemplary record in the market to date......

Richards, Amavi, Ayew, Veretout, Gana (not today I admit) and Adama are our best players. All brought in this year by "the comittee".

It's the dirge shit that we have continued to play year in, year out that has killed us over the past 5 years. Westwood, Hutton, Bacuna, Guzan, Richardson, Clark, Gabby etc. All fucking useless and when we sell our best players each year, these twats remain and actually get promoted into first team positions.

I'm happy with 'the committee'. I was very pleased with our summer signings, it was the direction we should have gone with years ago. The players we brought in are good solid PL players (for the most part). We just never had the backing from that twat Lerner to finish the repair job this summer. It was clear we wanted many more players in but due to lack of funds we rushed to sign Lescott, Crespo, Ilori, Gestede for pennies to actually fill the squad.

Clearly we still wanted a proper keeper, centre-half, right-back, midfielder and striker in the summer but once the net spend hit £0 Randy hit the panic button and instead of chasing proper targets like Begovic we ended up with either some cheap shit to go along with the Cole, Senderos, Richardson signings of the world or nobody at all. This is all on Lerners head. If we can retain our best players, finally dump some of the shit and get backed in the summer window, there's no reason why we can't come straight back up.

Nor have Karaoke or the chap from Real Madrid yet they're the managers currently at the top of the table.  More to the point I don't think there is a secret recipe for success at that level which would not work at a higher or lower lever, simply identifying good players is the key.  Hopefully the combination of Garde and Reilly can do that.

I think the clear out starts now. The relegation clauses or lack of is going to play a massive part in what happens next. So if Richardson and Gabby for example don't have one we are going to have them sitting it out on the Payroll. Worse will be if Ayew has one then he could be off at a knock down price. I am sure these idiots have managed to get the worst of both worlds.

Gana and Traore are two of our best players? Are you joking? Traore looks like he doesn't have a fucking clue how to play in a competitive match, he's unaware of everyone else on the pitch and Gana looks to me like he's almost given up and has started hiding.

The only decent summer signings have been Veretout who is slowly growing in to it and Ayew who looks like he has heart, spirit and ability. Amavi may turn out good but has hardly played just yet. The rest look crap.

Llori, Crespo and Kozak must be supremely shit not to get in this squad, who for my money are the very worst we've seen in my entire lifetime (first game 1978)

I wonder what the fuck is going on with those three.

Especially Kozak.

The only players I'd be sad to lose from this year's collection of shit are Richards,  Amavi, Veretout and Ayew. The rest can all sling it. Fucking hopeless

Riddle me this:  Are we better signing a few 'names' whilst we have premiership status and deal with their likely under-enthusiasm next season (I'm thinking Toulalan/Cole/Manadanda type status - probably on 3 year deals) or should we wait until next season and sign players who may not be recognised (i.e. lesser known quality) but know what they're joining?

Just another 3 to add to the Randy Lerner shit/pointless signings list

Dante, I would be amazed if anyone with the right attitude or ability would join a club who are certain for relegation, on 8 points and on a club record bad run.

We need to bite the bullet this season I fear and reap the storm we've sown or It will probably be even more cash down the pan.

I'm now at a point of thinking that it's best not to bother throwing stupid money at players in the vague hope of staying up. If somebody is available who Remi thinks can do a job next season, then by all means bring them in. If not, I want to see the current squad suffer the embarrassment of the remaining matches

If we lose at Sunderland then I agree.  We'd be better off spending the window trying to offload the bigger earners who bring nothing to the table.

I'm in two minds.  The thought of signing a 'Barry' who knows his legs are going but would have too much quality in the Championship next season is tempting.  As you've said on another thread, the spine of our team is all over the place and the opportunity to rebuild that whilst we can attract players with a bit of a reputation should not be ignored.  The problem is whether these players will be suitably motivated this season and beyond.

I think our rep has taken such a bashing the last few years that we would be seen as toxic right now. I just can't see myself anyone of any worth signing for us from the Premier League. I hope I'm wrong and some rabbits are pulled out of the hat by Garde but I expect we will just pull Blues out of a used johnny as usual.

I think that any player arriving in January will be doing so knowing that we will in all probability be in the Championship next season and will therefore be accepting that challenge.  We will be a big draw to players in that league if we go down and that is where our scouting efforts should be concentrated on now.  Try and keep the core of better younger players we have and then add good players from that division.

Anyone tempted to bring Peter Crouch back? Could surely be a decent striker in the first division.

I would take Crouch like a shot. Hold the ball well and bring others into the game.
