I've watched Hutton on numerous occasions attack down the wing like a man possessed then run out of legs when they counter attack, he will cost us more goals than he assists.

If Cissako returns then get Hutton out of the team by moving Bacuna to RB. We lose nothing by doing that other than liability.

I'm also of the opinion that Hutton is a liability, albeit a hard working one. His positional sense is absolutely awful.

He was left completely exposed on Saturday by there being no midfield cover in front of him, which was a result of us being slow to adjust after the loss of Sanchez.

By the time the ball was struck Gil was in the centre back position.  I'm not disagreeing with the point over all but between them they got themselves in a right muddle.

Whilst I agree to an extent, Bacuna is equally useless defensively.

I'd prefer that Richards gets moved to right back and we persevere with Okore a bit longer.

Hutton was exposed but made no effort to move towards the player to try and push him wide to hold up play for others to get back

Hutton drove me mad against West Ham , always out of position when defending and a total waste in attacking positions as he can't cross the road, he would be the first one to drop in my book.

Remi Garde has to tell Richards to play at RB and he needs to buy a FIT left back in the window. After he has bought a GK.

Hutton should never have stood off Cresswell in the way that he did. With the modern light ball you can't give people a free whack from 25 yards.

Most opposition attacks are coming down our right flank, there is a reason why.

I'd add the onside ball watching at Newcastle to the recent list of his costly mistakes. I sort of admire him for getting past the bomb squad/new contract  circus but the truth is that he is a very limited player and a significant liability.

Hutton was geeing up the crowd and giving it a go as he does every match. He's actually doing more than left backs . Hutton puts his hands up outstretched calling for ball , gets forward but lacks final ball quality and isn't afforded defensive cover. Full backs these days are more about attacking especially depending on formation and hutton is there to provide width.
It is frustrating to see the crossing failing time and again. And also that crosses and shots come from his defensive errors. Final thing I have to say is that Alan hutton looks like he just wants to play football and is passionately playing . He was dropped and left out of things altogether a few seasons back so, I think his effort and application is great testament to his character. Hutton gives it a go and considering he wasn't playing prem league for a while he seems grateful just to be playing.  Good pro and improved disciplinary I'll go out on a limb and say need players like hutton at this time. He does need defennsive cover and midfielder ahead of him to track back.

I may be alone in this thought and being harsh but I thought Guzans positioning was slightly off for their goal too. Hutton was sliding across and Cresswell was always going to shoot across goal , Guzan needed to be half a pace to his left IMO.
