You have to laugh at some of the suggestions on here sometimes and Sickbeggar's is on of the more amusing one's.

Because i want someone who can put the ball in the net now. Ayew i rate better than Benteke, I really do. He's not going to do that this season so you keep him till May when he'll get sold in the firesale, and we'll all mutter a bit when he does a Lukaku in 2018. Traore looks a player but he can't get a game.  You can have fucking pele on the bench but if garde doesn't fancy him what's the point?
So the one player we have who looks like he might be able to score should be sold, then, adrift at the bottom, we try and buy a better goal scorer. I've had a fair bit of wine tonight which might explain why I'm not understanding the logic here.

yeah because he's currently up there hammering the onion bag with the best, and only our shit defence is stopping us from taking our natural position at the top of the premiership

And its 4 in 13 this season Dave and his best ever return is 12 in 31 in a shit league. I'm not going to get in a situation where i'm slagging him off because he will be a top player. just not yet

So sell him now?

Are you for real?

4 in 10 starts isn't it? In a poor side it's a good return. The thing is none of them have been centre forward goals.  You could still have another main striker scoring goals with the positions Ayew takes up. I do wish we had a top forward with him. Selling would be insane.

You rate him higher than Benteke but you'd sell him for less than half the price? Ah, ok.

Yes, which would mean doing the exact opposite of what you suggest and in fact adding players of similar quality to the team.

In that case, let him go for nothing.

The egg-nog has taken a bashing tonight I see.

If the money doesn't matter, why do you want to sell him for anyway? Not thought this argument through have you?

ok lee. If you really think Ayew will get, as main striker, the goals needed to stay up this season, I disagree. If you think Lerner will buy a main striker this January to help Ayew out, I disagree. I think any big club looking  at Ayew this season will say "he's got something" moreso than Benteke who imo was/is overrated. All i'm saying that someone who is premiership ready will be more use to us currently than Ayew. of course if Lerner wants to spend 15m on a striker in January then forget this conversation

Not at all. You seem to equate cost to worth.

I can see the argument that we need current ability rather than potential, but Ayew seems to have both.

Not at all. You said you rated him higher than Benteke but would accept £15m if a bid came in. That doesn't make a great deal of sense really. Besides, who would you bring in to keep us up?

Already said clampy. I'd get Remy in on loan preferably with Ayew still there. Remy or Ayew likely to get the goals we need? Both of them?

Remy's a good shout, but there's no need to sell Ayew at the moment, it would be a mistake.
