I read Garde's comments about a clearout. Sadly i think that refers to players out of contract this summer and with nothing to lose, and those of our foreign contingent whose stay in Birmingham hasn't totally blackened their reputation back in their home countries and who may command a decent fee (gil, Traore). Might even get an unpleasant surprise if garde decides to cash in on someone promising if he gets a big offer and decides the money is too good to turn down to allow him to strengthen elsewhere. Depends if he's resigned to relegation or fancies a punt...Actually probably depends if Lerner is resigned to relegation.

I read it as him having already made up his mind who can't / won't contribute to the massive fight we have ahead of us, and if an offer comes in for them, they're gone. Kozak, Senderos, Richardson, N'Zogbia, Cole, Gabby are probably in that category, possibly Gil.

Of the players mentioned so far, if we could get Mandanda, Toulalan and Remy, I think that would go a long way to sorting out some of our problems.

Trouble with that list, is you're not going to get any suitors, anymore than we did with the MON deadwood. I don't know how much money is available in January, if any, but if we're trying to generate some money coming in from players perhaps not totally in garde's plans, then the like of Gil and Traore fit the bill. N'zogbia and cole are probably in the "fuck it, give them a free transfer" catagory.

I'm not sure it's about raising money - he's already said there is money available in the window.

What he said was "For sure there are some players here who are not playing for a long time and I think it is not very healthy for the group, for themselves first because as a player you want to play first-team football".

Which I take to mean some of the players not in the first team are causing problems.

As for teams to buy them, then yes, that is a problem. However it's unlikely that Richardson, Senderos, Cole and Kozak are on 'O'Neill wages'. Gabby and N'Zogbia we might have to pay off to some extent.

I'm not sure people like Cole are causing problems. Even N'zogbia apart from being irretrievably shite. Gabby maybe. The rest, i doubt it. I think its how much money is available in the window and we don't need 10-15m thrown at it because its money down the drain imo. If we could get say 7m for gil/Traore if Garde didn't want them, AND if someone offered us 15m for Ayew who i rate very highly but isn't going to score enough to keep us out of the championship this season at least, AND Lerner gives us 10m on top, then i reckon Garde would have a chance.. Getting rid of kozak, Senderos, richardson etc like they are some sort of collection of bad apples. well,,,,,,,,,,,

While perhaps not causing problems deliberately, I can't imagine any player is happy when not playing games. They aren't going to be upbeat, motivated figures around the place which is what we need at this point, not people moping around.

Since Kozak and Senderos haven't played a game for us in months, and Richardson is well, how can I put it nicely, past his best, there seems little point in keeping them if someone else is interested.

Selling Ayew and Traore at this stage would be absolutely nuts.

who the hell is interested in Kozak, Senderos and Richardson? Especially on premier wages? this is exactly the muddle we got into post MON when when we expected people to bid for the likes of harewood and beye

Ayew is an asset but he's not the finished article. 2 years from now he could be scoring 20 goals a season for someone. If someone makes a mad bid january i'd take it. Traore can't get into the side. He's rated around the world. if we got a good offer i'd take it

Well how about we just keep him then?

Because i want someone who can put the ball in the net now. Ayew i rate better than Benteke, I really do. He's not going to do that this season so you keep him till May when he'll get sold in the firesale, and we'll all mutter a bit when he does a Lukaku in 2018. Traore looks a player but he can't get a game.  You can have fucking pele on the bench but if garde doesn't fancy him what's the point?

So the one player we have who looks like he might be able to score should be sold, then, adrift at the bottom, we try and buy a better goal scorer. I've had a fair bit of wine tonight which might explain why I'm not understanding the logic here.

Who do you have in mind who will score more often than the four in nine that Ayew has since he came into the side?

yeah because he's currently up there hammering the onion bag with the best, and only our shit defence is stopping us from taking our natural position at the top of the premiership

And its 4 in 13 this season Dave and his best ever return is 12 in 31 in a shit league. I'm not going to get in a situation where i'm slagging him off because he will be a top player. just not yet

You have to laugh at some of the suggestions on here sometimes and Sickbeggar's is one of the more amusing one's.
