Shola Ameobi worth a shout?

The only shout I'd direct towards Ameobi would be "jump" if i saw him standing on a very high bridge.

Absolutely fucking awful player.

agreed...I'd rather have Shola Ama

Bardsley
Naismith
Remy
Armafilto
Gouffran
Toulalan

I was getting used to your way of thinking and starting to nod at certain things BUT then you went and spoilt it all by mentioning Bardsley!

Even then he'd miss the water.

I do hope people don't for one minute think I was being serious. I had quite a heated debate with a Newcastle season ticket holder of many years about who was worse, Ameobi or Agbonlahor. He won, just.

I know Gabby has been utterly gash the past few seasons, but Ameobi has been fucking shit his entire career. Gabby has several critical goals and performances in the early part of his career when he was lighting quick and gave a damn. Has Ameobi got any significant moments in his? In a battle of Gabby vs Shola, across their entire body of work, it's Gabby every single time.

Sam Byram has been linked today.

I think that's the sort we have to be signing tbh. It would be a realistic signing baring in mind where we could be next year. He is a very good player at that level for Leeds.

Right back although can play in other positions if needed. Out of contract in the summer. Pretty sure he's been linked to us before.

I like Byram, think he's more than capable of making the step up from the Championship. No reason he can't be as successful a fullback at this level as Cresswell who West Ham plucked from the Championship.

I was told last summer by someone who, allegedly, has ITK contacts at Leeds that we were pursuing Byram and he said it looked as if he was coming, but nothing happened........then.

And that is why I conceeded defeat. Based on the last three years I'd say it's a very close thing.

Probablty just following the lead of others, but the Birmingham Mail has us interested in Khazri and Toulalan.  Toulalan sounds like just the kind of player we need and have probably missed since Petrov retired.

Can't see Toulalan being keen, but the Inler link is an interesting one.

He joined Leicester at a time when they looked far more likely to be fighting it out at the bottom of the table rather than the top, so a deal with a release clause is probably something he is already familiar with.  I'm sure I seen some of the better German teams linked with him as well though, so we'd have a job persuading him.

Nowt wrong with the pedigree, but again, it's a player who might take time to adapt to the Premiership seeing as he has rarely featured for Leicester this season. That's time we don't have.

Kramaric impressed me last season too, and barely seems to get a look in this year. With our lack of options that could be one to explore.

If I was Leicester, I wouldn't sell either, mind.  If they are serious about staying in contention this year, those are the type of players you would want to be able to come in when injuries invariably take their toll.

Think he's scored half his career goals for Newcastle v Sunderland and got a 5 year deal as a result so very Gabby esque.

Kramaric did look a good striker last season Kevin. I would have Albrighton back of Leicester if I could though!

Gabby vs Ameobi is two bald men fighting over a comb.

Phil Bardsley seems to have 1 good game a season against us.  Rubbish player though.  Hutton is better.  In fact limited he may be but I am OK with Hutton. Works hard and cares. We have much bigger areas to sort.

I'd have Albrighton back in a heartbeat.

Mind you, getting rid of him did mean we could bring in the likes of Richardson, Cole and Senderos.

What an inspired bit of business that was.   ::)
