It's noticeable we haven't been linked with Messi in the papers.

*taps nose*
No no chance as he signed a contract extension at the start of the season. However may be worth exploring about any release clause that says "if Aston Villa make a bid"?

Sam Byram has been linked today.

I think that's the sort we have to be signing tbh. It would be a realistic signing baring in mind where we could be next year. He is a very good player at that level for Leeds.

Right back although can play in other positions if needed. Out of contract in the summer. Pretty sure he's been linked to us before.

I've just done some YouTube scouting and he looks decent from the short clips I can see. Would probably be cheap as well so not much of a risk. I say sign him.

if the media were to be believed, we could add 6 news players and maybe 2 to leave and will it take the team longer to gel and get the winning run needed. We need to sign all of them within a fortnight in time for FA Cup Round 3.

Maximum two players in this window. Two who can improve this team whilst it's jelling together. Anymore and we have no chance of getting out of it.

I'd say 3 max if one of them is a new keeper.

I think one decent CH is an absolute priority, as as a striker. One decent defneder could make our defence look a lot more competent. Someone who has experience, and legs and could organise us a bit. Easier said than done.

If we get possibly in any way get Remy on loan, that could solve the striker crisis until the end of the season. Failing that we should be bidding on Austin.

I think a new CH is probably the very last position we will be looking at.
A striker who can score, an experienced midfielder and any fucker who can play left back should be on the shopping list.

Remi said he's looking at getting Inler on loan from Leicester.

Would take him, vastly experienced for club and country, can keep the ball and put his foot in so an upgrade on Sanchez.

Edit: I'm reasonably confident we'll end the transfer window with a significantly better 11 than we have now with the contacts Garde has. The big problem though is how far adrift we'll be at the end of January and how monumental the task will be.

We simply need to win a game or two with this current mob to give us half a chance for the final 15 or so games.

I think the numbers depends on the players. Ray has worked with the Kahzi at Bastia, and knows him. Garde has worked with Toulalan. Inler has such a huge amount of experience he is the type that would likely help the side gel, and is a proven leader. Mandanda is a proven, experienced international keeper. Cole if he came at left back is not the type that will need long to settle, he has played with Lescott and Richards before.  The point being the ones we are being linked with, are mainly players with vast experience (thank god) that you would think would not take the time to adapt OR settle into the side say Veretout has. That coupled with the others gaining time in the division and we could actually benefit quite well from 4-5 players coming in.

If they were 5 kids, I would agree completely, but they are not are they.

I'm in the 4-5 signings and half a dozen at best. A few will be outed but bringing in 4,5,6 decent players then makes interesting
1-2 strikers
2 wingers or midfielders
1 defender
1gk
