Just to clarify Adam Bogdan was a serious suggestion?
Yes.

He certainly looked like he'd fit right in against Watford yesterday.
I haven't seen that game. Are you saying Mignolet (or whoever else played for Liverpool) was crap?

Edit - just seen the match report. Bogdan played and produced a major rick for Watford's first goal.

Bogdan played for them yesterday and "chucked one in" after three minutes.

Sounds just what we need.

Quote
With regular goalkeeper Simon Mignolet absent from the squad with a hamstring injury, 28-year-old Bogdan - who had previously only played in the League Cup since his summer arrival - was called in.

Just over two minutes into the match, he bounced Ben Watson's corner at his own feet rather than making what looked like an easy catch. Replays suggested he might have had two hands on the ball when Ake pounced, but nonetheless it was a poor error.

Bogdan said: "I had both hands on the ball but we are talking about a split-second. It's not easy for the referee to see. If I catch the first ball, there is no second one.

"Something went wrong, I have to think about it again. It was a mistake and I will learn from it."

Hungarian Bogdan didn't cover himself in glory when punching a through ball into Lucas' face either though, and his nervousness seemed to spread through the Reds defence.

I would like us to sign Daniel Bentley of Southend Utd, a young goalkeeper with loads of potential, possibly one for the future but could have a great future. He is out of contract in the summer and we could get him for about £1.5 million easily!

Good shout. Could probably get him for free in the summer though.

Steve Mandanda anyone? Apparently £3m bid if you believe the rumours.

Edit: you quick fingered bastard Matt :) Nipped in faster than an opposing forward in our penalty box.

We had Mandanda on trial a few years ago if I remember correctly

He's not big but very athletic. Been pretty much an ever present for Marseille since 2008. He did have a trial with us before that but given that MON was manager and pretty much anti scouting beyond these shores it's no wonder it didn't work out.

That strikes me as extremely cheap for somebody who were in not for Hugo Lloris being really good would probably have been France's first-choice keeper for nearly a decade.

Being out of contract in the summer will be what keeps his price down. Which is nice.

Could be a really good buy that.

Mandanda, Richards, Toulalan, Ayew wouldn't be a bad spine to build a team around at all.

I can't take anyone called Bogdan seriously. I keep seeing Walter White's car wash owner in my head.

Spoiler for "Breaking Bad Wipe down this scene - NSFW - swearing":

if Garde wants to follow in Wengers steps he needs to fish out a Patrick Viera and an Emmanual Petit from his homeland in this window

Remember though that Wenger inherited one the best defences in top flight history and he added some great players to it. It would be great to find the best Viera but he has so many other things to fix. We literally need a new GK, CB and right back let alone our issues at LB. if Richards goes to RB or can play with Okore maybe that solves a piece of the issues but the defence is a shambles right now.

I´d like to see us a make a realistic bid to get 20yr old Zach Clough from Bolton, he is very highly rated , scored 2 goals after a long injury layoff , last Saturday, and more pertinently perhaps, his Club are 173mil quid in debt .....so they could hardly turn down a decent offer........Godzvilla!
