Realistic won't cut it, in terms of getting out of the hole we're in.  Only the real-life equivalents of Cherno Samba, Fredy William Thomson, Ibrahima Bakayoko or Tonton Zola Moukoko could save us from this.

Niclas Alexanderson, king of utillity men, would really help our injury woes.

How about Jordan Rhodes? More with an eye on next season than anything.

Let's call to arms some past players who are sentimental to our cause.
And get them in on coaching scene. Laursen defence. Townsend midfield and Yorke and merse as the attacking coaches.
Basically I see likes of Neville's taking over Valencia then pundits like the ex villa above can do as good a job.

There won't be any, Lerner knows we're going down and won't waste another Dollar of his cash IMO.

How about Jordan Rhodes? More with an eye on next season than anything.

Only if it meant sending back Gestede, there is very little to Rhodes all round game, bar the obvious

Would be paying crazy money for him too

Remy would be a better bet for us I think, scored goals for struggling QPR and Newcastle sides previously

Bentaleb, Besic, Crouch, Bamford, Jedinak - all better players than we have already with an eye to next season too

As for a keeper, Darren Randolph was very impressive for Ireland in recent games.

Backup at West Ham but was impressive at Birmingham by all account, could be an option for us.

Maybe get Collins back on loan? Yes we know he likes to hoof it and I wasn't a huge fan when he was here but he'd be more solid than Lescott you'd think and strong in the air.

I'd go for Benteke. Or how about Lukaku?

Maybe Lewandowski?

He looks a shadow of the player he looked at Swansea. Slow and lumbering. And for what they paid he's out of our range. And why would he leave a side in the CL and competing on most fronts to play for us? Even if he is only a squad player.

Davide Santon would be a good signing. I imagine we'll see if we can get Cissokho back though.
