Maybe thats the way to attract decent players in January offer them a huge bonus if we stay up.
we'll be miles off by then.

unless we win a couple before Jan I wouldn't bother with the January window.

Wait till summer, sack Garde if appropriate and have a go next year.

Linked with Michael Keane from Burnley according to Newsnow.

Another young inexperienced defender with no experience of top flight football is just what we need.

In fairness, linked doesn't always mean it's true.

I know but can't they link us with someone that would cheer me up today?

Sorry, well they could I suppose but they would be making it up, like they normally do.

Linked with Philippe Mexès today (By me, and a complete lie, but it might cheer you up).

Back 4 of Richards, Illori, Mexes and Okore, yep looks better.

Apart from loan deals we'll struggle to attract any quality. One glance at the table shows we are a championship club in waiting. We may get a couple of big name signings on loan in a last ditch attempt to save us. It worked with Robbie Keane but as many have said it will be too late then.

Perhaps our best policy would be to identify those clubs currently in the Championship who are likely to be our competitors next season and cherry pick their best players.  It might not help us in the short term, but we'll have got players who can hack it at that level and weakened other teams too. A win win.

I'm going to cheer myself up with some fantasy January signings to beef up the defence when we tempt an Italian trio of Maldini, Baresi in front of Buffon with the promise of immortality.

We need to get top quality players who will stay with us to get promotion if the worse happens. Like Buffon staying in Juventus when relegated for match fixing.
