January 2016 - Transfer Rumours, Speculation & Suggestions
« on: November 08, 2015, 04:44:48 PM »
I'll probably be banned or thread locked in a minute but who do you think Remi will look to bring in to strengthen the squad in January ?

For me ....
The best quality keeper we can get on a permanent or loan.... I think Guzans' confidence is shot and we need some experience.
A striker who can score with feet and head ..... probably someone french but Austin would be available
An experienced centre back .... although I think Okore will impress when he gets his chance. I don;t think Richards is the complete answer, can be too hot-headed

Think we need a Keeper, a Right back, a center-half and a striker. The absolute priorities are probably striker and keeper.

Why would you be banned? What a ridiculous comment to make.

Although suggesting it is a tad risky. From the site rules:

Posters including such phrases as "I know you will delete this" or "I bet I get banned for saying this" as some sort of challenge to the moderators will find the post deleted and/or themselves banned as a matter of principle.

So maybe edit it while we're all in a good mood ;)

Striker definitely. Doesn't have to be a 20 a season man but does have to be dangerous and able to get in behind the defence. Loic remy on loan would be ideal but unlikely.

Y'know someone like Peter Crouch....can't get in the Stoke team and not that young but his game isn't based on pace and he still scored 10 goals for them last season and could hold it up better than all out strikers.

Short term to the end of the season.

Let's see how Ayew does as the main striker. The goalkeeper strikes me as the immediate priority, I'm sorry to say.

Guzan was fine today. He can keep clean sheets as long as we have a stable shape infront, today looked promising at times.

He was a bit lucky with the header that hit him in the face (though you can say he was brave and well-positioned), and he did let a couple slip away which could have had very bad results.

He spread himself well and saved it. It's what keepers have to do sometimes when it's point blank. At least one of the spills (the freekick) i'd put down to a slick ball, dunno if it could be seen on TV but there was a fair bit of rain in the second half.

Ask man city if they want to loan out Bony when they have their full crew back.

Isn't he the guy who wasn't good enough for us in the summer?
