City's three missed sitters in the second half all came from Hutton and Richards not picking up the City forward.

Hopefully the clean sheet today is the break we have needed to kick on.

When I woke up this morning and saw it was 0-0 I just assumed we hadn't kicked off yet.

Ha ha excellent!

I missed Jenas etc, what were they saying? (Not that anything they have to say should matter at all to anyone ever.)

Keown praised Garde for producing a calm controlled passing team much like Arsene he said. He hilighted many passages of play where we kept possession but said we were in effective in the final third but that will come with confidence.
Jenas said he has never seen such a change in a team from last week to this week.

There was an obvious logic to the team he picked and the subs made. The pundits will be scratching their heads that replacing a pie and mash Englishman with an exotic Frenchy would result in such sensible pragmatism. Be interesting to see how we shape up again a side that haven't cost 50 trillion quid.

That's extremely funny. I imagine one of the things he will have noticed changing were SIX OF THE PLAYERS. And the manager. I wonder if there's a connection there somewhere.

A few more performances with that sort of heart and desire and spirit and some of these pundits will be having to eat there words.

We took yet another kicking on Sunday Supplement this morning.  "Gardes a terrible appointment", "they've got no chance of staying up'"; "The signings they made were terrible".

That is just it, they are clearly not terrible are they. With a centre forward like Benteke (not him as he has gone) or even a Mitrovic or Rondon type that are big but still move and carry a threat, we will be a decent side.

I also looked at the cost of the city squad and thought it was frightening that in all of that they can't get a world class backup for Aguerro up top.

Yep. Same at Man U where despite haven't spent an utter fortune they don't have a recognized striker and look really dull for the most part.

Great performance through hard work and organisation,Carlos MOTM, big shout for Hutton's effort, yes we know he has a fair few issues defending, but give me 11 hearts like his and we would be fine.

Clark needs regular games, he gets better the longer run he has in the team, Ayew moved more today than Gabby has for the last two seasons, goals maybe a problem, but if you can defend properly one is often enough.

Right players being well drilled and trained in a way that works for the parts you have available to make the sum total effective, why oh why did Dim Tim find it so hard.

Maybe and I have to admit I found this hilarious as to Sherwoods mental capacity, on Bein over here, they have fucked about with the satellites required, so I only got Arabic coverage at the moment, Sherwood was pundit for the Arse, Yids game, now what happens is you get the Arabic guys obviously speaking Arabic and when they go to the English guy, who has had a translator in his ear telling him what they have been saying, he answers and you obviously hear English, I mean even Dwight Yorke and dopes like Andy Cole have had no problem dealing with this and they answer in their normal dulcet tones, No not Dim Tim, he was actually speaking slower than he normally does, a bit like when we go on holiday and we have all done it and are speaking to the dopey Spanish waiter, if I say it slower but louder he will understand me, that was Tim's input to the art of punditry last night, f...ing hilarious.

Also Delph not only is a snake but a deaf one if he could not hear the reception he got, I heard it all the way over here in Oman.

I think Delph is to arrogant to think it was for him! Never trust a bloke who winks.

Sherwood abroad must be hilarious. Like an episode of little Britain all to himself. Twunt.

Re watched the chance for Gestede from the corner he was given by fart ... Better connection and it would have been in.

The signings thing is because Sherwood started to use "they weren't my players" as an excuse. However you do have to look at Lescott and Gestade as definitely his and if it wasn't for Adebayour playing silly nuggets, we would have had him as well.

Last week the lazy Sherwood supporter said something amongst the lines of Villa let Benteke, Vlaar, Delph and Cleverley go. One was a free agent who is no where near fit, one on loan who decided to go elsewhere, one very good player where another team panic bought if or 32 mil and one who slithered out. Benteke was also a player that they were all moaning about a few seasons ago when he was in the team ahead of Bent.

Well, well, what a surprise, a thinking manager who picks the correct starting 11 and, can make sensible substitutions. I for one am not at all surprised. The first thing Remi did was to watch the DVD's of this seasons matches so far so, no way was he going to pick the "old guard" that TS kept putting out as a poor excuse for a football team.

I may be well wide of the mark but my thoughts are that either TS was totally naive when it came to picking a team or, much more likely, he was just too arrogant to admit his selections were wrong and just wanted to prove the majority of us wrong.

Also, I never believed the crap about players like Veretout not being fit enough to play, just look at his performance yesterday. Have to agree with others that TS was a bit of a chancer and, doubt very much that he will ever be manager of a Premier league club again.

Sometimes, it would pay the manager to read sites like this because, normally, 30 odd thousand can't all be wrong when they suggest a starting 11 that would improve the situation.

And Rodgers was saying he wasn't worth £32m, but when push came to shove they paid it and still got a bargain.
