Even if City play below theirselves can still see them carving a functional 0-2. The revival may have to wait a week ::)

I'm pretty much writing off this game and feel the season will start in earnest on Monday.

Just to add a little positivity, last season at their place when we conceded another late goal we were one of only a few teams during the last 3 seasons to have more possession than them.

Citeh complacency and a little more guile from us: a score-draw, methinks.

Well Norwich were minutes away from getting a draw at the Emptihad last week.

And Aguerro and Silva are out.

Yes we are massive underdogs but let's not write the game off completely.

I'll go for 1-1, and some positivity restored.

The team needs our support more than ever right now, so I urge as many to get down there as possible and let the new manager and the team see we are right behind them
Whatever the result, I am strangely looking forward to this game

Missing those two is great news for us. We might scrape a draw

I want to go down tomorrow and take my Greek mate with me who has only been living in the city for a few months. However, I have been instructed told advised that I have to stay in to wait for a delivery from M&S.

Surely they'll deliver to Villa Park.

Interesting comment from Manuel Pelegrini regarding Delph reported in the Graun here: Manuel Pellegrini: I hope Fabian Delph won’t be booed on return to Aston Villa

Asked if Delph could expect a difficult welcome, Pellegrini said: “No, I hope he will not receive that. He played a lot of years for Aston Villa and Aston Villa wanted to sell him also. He continued being a player that gave a lot of his career to Aston Villa and I don’t think the fans will forget all those things.”

An eye-brow raising narrative for me, as I was under the impression that Villa wanted him to stay, what with being the club captain and everything, and it was a case that his new contract included a ridiculously-low release clause valuation.

Oh, and the M&S delivery came this morning so I'm going after all.

Even managed to annoy wife by being indisposed at the traps when the delivery turned up; she had to answer the door in her dressing gown.

That'll teach her.
