Villa now stir no feelings within me. I pay attention but I'm beyond even clapping sarcastically at their shite.

This .... I`ve had enough - where`s the spirit?

Today was always a write off (a win predicted by 74% on here), so why the outpouring of grief? No managerial decision can legislate for a fuck up like Guzan's today. All the wailing and moaning is pointless and the desire for managerial change, wishful thinking. Sherwood will be in charge next Saturday.
Guzan shouldn't be getting selected.

Courtesy of @ThatDanWard on Twitter:

if we want 36pts from 29 games (to reach 40pts), i've bad news: villa haven't achieved that in a 29 game run in a single season since 10/11.

Gulp.

The club I love with all my heart has become a joke and it fucking well hurts. I have seen it all including relegation to the third division (that's league 1 to you youngsters) but this us one of the worst teams we've ever had. Thanks Villa.

coukdnt agree more been going since 1963 season ticket holder since 1968. we  had some pretty poor players in late 60's but at
lleast they would make up for it with 100% effort and llook as if they cared and were proud to wear the claret and blue of Aston Villa. im almost hoping they get relegated because if they do AVFC will no longer be part of my life. In reality AVFC probably died for me when my father passed away 2 years ago he had  also become very disillusioned after 60 years of supporting them. R.I.P dad  R.I.P Aston Villa

The club is a mere shadow of its former self.

Nice guy but as thick as a brick, just the way he likes his managers.

I don't even think that. I think he's a nasty devious bastard for what he's done to our club these last 6 seasons.
Really?
Devious would mean everything that's happened is by design in some sort of plan.
The sort of plan that risks turning the £50-100M he's already on to lose if he can ever find a buyer into a £200M loss, just to piss offl/spite 30,000 regular fans and at a guesstimate another 100,000 of us dotted around the globe.

Have you been possessed by the spirit of Danlanza, because that's the kind of bollocks he'd spout.

How about he hadn't got a clue from day 1.
as I keep saying he could be getting stitched up
By whom?
When Faulkner was CEO, the managers reported directly to Lerner.
It's only since last year where everything ends with Fox who only reports to Lerner as any other CEO would be answerable to shareholders.

Anything else is getting decidedly David Icke.
why then does he do nothing about the situation?
is he being badly advised?
on purpose?
Because he's hopeless at running a business placing too much weight on personal relationships (see the loyalty like I've never seen at the end of 13/14 season) which means he's reluctant to act. I'm convinced that if Fox hadn't been in place last year we'd have gone down and Lambert would still be in charge.

We can only hope that Fox is either giving Sherwood enough rope to hang himself from a contractual point of view (personally I'd take the extra hit in the wallet to get him out of the door earlyor he's waiting to ditch him until he's sure that he's got the replacement he wants lined up.

No great conspiracy, just recognising that the circumstances haven't been constant in terms of who's making the calls and if the choice was an extra 2 weeks of Sherwood whilst we got the right replacement, or 2 weeks of Wilkins as caretaker whilst we got the right replacement then what we've got right now Is probably the least shitty option.

Apparently Wilkins spent most of the match having a laugh and a joke with the Chelsea fans and hugging Mourinho.

Noticed that once just before HT

Wilkins is just on a free and easy ride on about £500k per year of our money. Total and utter waste
Wilkins was a disgusting appointment. Apart from the fact that he had no specific expertise or defined role, as we all know he had no affection for our club either. Villa was  just another lucrative gig for him, but he probably knew when he took it that it wouldn't last too long.
If he'd been of any use, would Abramovich - who obviously has far more money than our hopeless owner can ever dream of - have got rid of him? And that was at the club he'd want to be at more than any other.!

There is not a single what I'd call "villa person" involved in the club at board or managerial level. The club has been woefully run and mismanaged and it's getting worse by the day. I fear its terminal now.

but surely even randy knows the money involved in staying up
he really cant afford to hang around(no joke intended)
now is definitely not the time for joking about or pissing about

I met a guy a couple of years ago who was Doug's driver/Man Friday etc. He didn't have a good word to say about Lerner and the way staff at VP were treated post takeover. I thought he was just bitter at first but now I get more of what he was saying. They really don't get the club or even the whole "soccer" thing.

No but reality will bite when we get relegated and the club's revenue drops by about £100m a year. Too late for us fans then though.
