What was frustrating was the amount of times gave ball away. I mean it wasn't just guzan who was sloppy but on numerous occasions players gave ball away. Even amavi who came on as a like for like was quickly guilty  of giving ball away in dangerous area. Ashley westwood was probanly most at fault also the corner thing by Westwood really needs to be addressed is there some sort of online  petition or email or comment to Tim that someone else needs to be on them or at least varye the floating balls to same spot if ball actually beats first man.
Gestede needs to work on hold up play as does ayew and traroe doin team play and not trying to dribble all by self. It was frustrating seeing
Overall villa players needed to be far higher up the pitch , needed more width and a pressure on the CD a neccisity. The tempo was genuinely lacking and swash buckle is a fantasy and sheer bravado to suit the Sherwood persona and utter poppycock. Such a  term the likes of Wenger at arsenal , guardiola at bayern wouldn't be labeled with. Klopp will dare to engage and press the opponents Sherwood only daring in talk . I'd like to say well done is well said. Sherwood is only daring in his prattle sound bites and nothing in his 2015/16 managerial tactics , play and actual doing has merrited  anything that strikes me as any good measure of correctness in going about getting results

Can I just say you are all invited round my house when we play MK Dons away next season

I live the other side of the city but it's better than Bletchley where the stadium is as it's a shit hole round there

don't be a stranger

That's very nice of you. Assuming Preston don't go down I can reciprocate for the visit to Deepdale. My son's friend works on the gate - he might squeeze  you in for free!

Likewise for Leeds, assuming they stay up. There's always Huddersfield.
Mmmm... relagation  suddenly  it looks like blissmas.... everywhere you look!

This is a sad report from BBC:

The returning Diego Costa played a key role as Chelsea earned a much-needed win over struggling Aston Villa.
The striker tapped in Willian's pass midway through the first half after defender Joleon Lescott's mis-control gifted the ball to the home side.
It was a welcome break for the Blues, who doubled their lead when Villa's Alan Hutton deflected in Costa's shot.
Chelsea, 16th in the table at the start of the day, were not at their best - but Villa offered little.
What contributions Tim Sherwood's side did make to the game were all in Chelsea's favour as they repeatedly gave the ball away and were punished accordingly.
They remain in 18th place and without a win in their past eight matches.

Today was always a write off (a win predicted by 74% on here), so why the outpouring of grief? No managerial decision can legislate for a fuck up like Guzan's today. All the wailing and moaning is pointless and the desire for managerial change, wishful thinking. Sherwood will be in charge next Saturday.

Nice guy but as thick as a brick, just the way he likes his managers.

I don't even think that. I think he's a nasty devious bastard for what he's done to our club these last 6 seasons.
Really?
Devious would mean everything that's happened is by design in some sort of plan.
The sort of plan that risks turning the £50-100M he's already on to lose if he can ever find a buyer into a £200M loss, just to piss offl/spite 30,000 regular fans and at a guesstimate another 100,000 of us dotted around the globe.

Have you been possessed by the spirit of Danlanza, because that's the kind of bollocks he'd spout.

How about he hadn't got a clue from day 1.

Goals change games and we gifted them two of the softest going. You do that anywhere and you're going to struggle.

Guzan is appalling. What a way to waste half an hours good work where we looked the better side and had created the only decent opening of the match.

After that it's always a tough task.

The routine nature of the soft goals we concede is systemic. Sherwood hasn't got the capability to organise us. A new manager please.

I fucking hate coming to this place.

I'm fed up with the bravado and lack of doing on the pitch. I do hope when the inevitable happens that Wilkins isn't given even one game as a caretaker role too. That would be tragic.

They should have acted 2 weeks ago and moved heaven and earth to get Rogers or Moyes in.

We are sleepwalking to relegation under this regime. 1 point after the last 24 is incredible by anyone's standards...especially in a year when there is not even 1 great side in the League.

Agreed - the standard of the league is shite and the promoted teams are making us look like fools (along with toon and Mackems). It's fucking bleak. These regular runs of continuous defeats are ridiculous. Sherwood will go soon I'm sure but I can't see a way out of this defeatist culture unless we are sold. Another one heading for the managerial graveyard and not sure if there's anyone of worth who would be interested in trying to turn us around. The whole infrastructure of the club is rotten

I can imagine Lerner and Fox muttering those words

By whom?
When Faulkner was CEO, the managers reported directly to Lerner.
It's only since last year where everything ends with Fox who only reports to Lerner as any other CEO would be answerable to shareholders.

Anything else is getting decidedly David Icke.

I don't live anywhere near the Madjeski Stadium but my in-laws do and I am sure they wouldn't mind us all popping in for a brew when we play Reading.

why then does he do nothing about the situation?
is he being badly advised?

Villa now stir no feelings within me. I pay attention but I'm beyond even clapping sarcastically at their shite.

This .... I`ve had enough - where`s the spirit?

Courtesy of @ThatDanWard on Twitter:

if we want 36pts from 29 games (to reach 40pts), i've bad news: villa haven't achieved that in a 29 game run in a single season since 10/11.
