Defensively they have been terrible. If Sherwood picks an attacking line up and sends the side out to win then we have every chance of coming away with something. We'll know soon enough, because if he picks 5 defenders we can all guess the tactics being employed and the result around 5pm.

Chelsea's confidence should be as fragile as us.
If we can unsettle them, even if that means going into the last half hour 0-0, then we 'could' Nick this.
If we can frustrate them, the pressure will build on them and leave some gaps.

That means picking the right team. Setting them up correctly and then reacting to any changes that murinho may make on the fly.

Oh.....I now see the flaw in this

I refuse to let Villa spoil this weekend, so I won't be watching. But, should a miracle occur, and we sneak a result (like, a draw or something) from these fuckers, I'll watch it on MOTD. It'll be the first time I've watched it in weeks and weeks.

With Grealish and Gil, don't think Westwood is required for keeping hold of the ball, need Sanchez in there with that kind of line up.

Didn't realise Richardson was still at the club.

I've just seen the team. No Amavi, Gestede or Sanchez but Westwood and Richardson are playing. Ayew in for Gestede. Traore on the bench. I really don't understand how Sherwood thinks.

"interesting" selection that I suspect will be the equivalent of a suicide note / resignation letter.  Sherwood seems to veer from all out defence to all out attack with nothing in between.   I think he's right in a way to pick a side that will be on the front foot, but how about sending out a balanced team that can do both, with a slight emphasis on one or the other,  that can be tweaked with astute subs.  I can see us getting totally overrun in midfield.  Neither Gil nor Grealish are much cop at tracking back so Westwood and Gana will be very stretched.  On a positive note it's good to see Ayew starting.  Strange one dropping Amavi.
