I say go there and have a real good go, play a proper formation with the view to win the game

It says a lot about both football and Villa that this needs to be said.

Yup. Sherwood came in and did just that and it worked! Then something happened and he changed his mind...now he's out of a job.

I think we'll get beat as Southampton are decent but I'd be happy for us to line up without any novelty selections and see how it goes...

No Richardson, no Lescott, no Westwood, no Gestede, no 5-3-2 and no strikers on the wing please

This now is about as meaningful as a pre season friendly, but yes agree with above, at least put a team out.

It will be really interesting to see the first non Sherwood line up and how many of the forgotten get included. I want us to go out and really try and win this. Not be afraid and we have plenty of attacking players in the squad to play that way.

Kozak should be in squad, without question.

I see this as a great opportunity to stop the rot and give life to some confidence ahead of the new man.

Hopefully the new man will be in the stands. He can then come down at half time, tell the lads to pull a finger out and be our new Messiah for the next 4 weeks.

I'd get N'Zogbia in too. Last year of his contract, drifting int he reserves, he'll be busting a gut to prove Sherwood wrong and to get a contract somewhere.

I think that's a picture of Tim Sherwood, taken the last time Charles N'Zogbia had a good game.

He's had 4 season's to prove people wrong. I think that's long enough.

What's Reo-Coker doing these days? If he's a free agent maybe we could sign him up. If not, we'll go back in for him in January.

                                  Guzan

Richards        Okore                Clark               Amavi

                          Gueye    Sanchez

  Adama                      Gil                        Grealish

                                  Ayew

Thats what I'd like to see, that on paper, and in theory looks a bloody good line up with creativity in abundance, no shortage of movement and a few that are not afraid too get stuck in, my only question mark would be the tracking back of Grealish/Adama to help the full backs but we can deal with that when were 0-3 up.

Okore and Clark have only just come back from injury, unfortunately.
