1 win in our last 7 makes me nervous that if we don't go in ahead at half time, we could end up succumbing to something like a crap set piece late on and lose 1-0.

We should be beating these, Pulis will go out for the draw as usual, Guzan, Richards Lescott Clark Amavi Gueye Westwood Gil Sinclair Grealish Gabby has to be the team for me. 2-0 Villa Sinclair and Lescott goalscorers.

We are a complete different beast to the sack of shit side we were last year.

We're not completely different pal. We are showing the same air of defensive frailties and mental instabilities that linger around a team with no winning mentality. Obviously it's easy to say the only way we get this is by winning, but that's not easy in this league.

The shining light for me is that the players we're brought in, for the most part, are used to winning. That should help long term.

WBA are, unfortunately still a decent team when it clicks and in Rondon we have a live-wire to contend with.

Albion are shit. They've scored 3 goals this season, only one when the opposition had 11 players on the pitch.

They look woeful inadequate going forwards though. 9 man Stoke created more.

I'd bring Hutton in at full back and Veretout if Gil is out. Have him in front of Westwood and Sanchez (unless Gana is fit) and push Grealish and Sinclair wide in a three with Gabby.

That's my worry in a way. We'll probably let them score a couple past us.

I've seen them 3 times this season. They played well in the 2nd half against Chelsea. Other that that, they've looked dire.

The only chance Olbiyun have got is if we freeze, and we have to many experienced players for that to happen, havent we?

Time to get our season going. Mistakes learnt from, hopefully one or two back from injury.

Got a stinker of a cold which started yesterday, so for once i'm quite glad I hadn't bought a ticket yet for Saturday.

If we're playing with Gil in the midfield 3 again, i think we have to drop Westwood for either Geuye or Veretout

He left Sanchez completely exposed last week and is merely a passenger when we're not in possession. He's just not quite good enough for me.

This was highlighted by Neville on MNF, we lacked solidity when 2-1 up when we should have had our 2 CMs sat in, protecting the back four. Ideally Gueye and Sanchez if both are fit, if not then Veretout and Sanchez should start.

It was also highlighted by every Villa fan watching on Sky and in the away end in the Leicester ground. Even those that were three sheets to the wind from pre match lager were more tactically astute than Sherwood.

Need to win this. Their only real chances will come from set pieces so as long as we're solid at the back and play like we did in the first half at Leicester we 'll take the points.

As an aside, how absolutely hilarious was it when I took my dog for a walk on Monday and my neighbour popped out to say 'mind you don't lose your lead'. No, I didn't think so either
