Great selection for the England vrs USA game.
If some of these youngsters step up like Henry Pollock our future is very bright.

Guy Pepper is already being talked about and Cunningham-South reminds me a bit of Courtney Lawes. What a back row that would be, those two and Pollock.

Interesting to see how the front row get on, as I think we certainly need the next generation to start coming through

George Ford has been fantastic, and showing what a great leader at 10 he is.

Lions team to face Australia
Keenan, Freeman, Jones, Tuipulotu, Lowe, Russell, Gibson-Park; Genge, Sheehan, Furlong. Itoje, McCarthy, Beirne, Curry, Conan.

Replacements: Kelleher, Porter, Stuart, Chessum, Earl, Mitchell, M Smith, Aki

Not sure about having Aki as a sub. I'd prefer someone who can play multiple positions or a rapid winger

I think it's about right. I'm not sure Conan deserves the start but Earl hasn't been great either. I'm also not a huge fan of picking a 3rd lock at 6 but that's become a trend recently.

Seems pretty good so far. Lions would be further ahead if they'd picked more Scots, IMO.

It’s all about the first 10 minutes of the second half now.
It looks like the Wallabies are reliant on a counter attacking strategy as they seem unable to create momentum or territory.

This isn’t great from a spectacle point of view.

I haven't been paying much attention to the tour but my assumption based on Aus being crap was that the Lions would walk this and so it seems.

Comfortable enough in the end and some good debuts and comebacks.

Conceding that late try would have stung, though.

It was pretty comfortable but some of the handling errors were chronic….coughed up a lot of chances, best to get that out the way against 16th ranked USA though

Some of the youngsters will benefit hugely from the tour

As a biased fan of the old Worcester I’d say Ted Hill can forget about playing for England in a proper match while Borthwick is in charge - 14 minutes across the tour in the match that didn’t matter suggests he doesn’t rate him
