Carlos Sanchez played the full 90 on wednesday in the states  and its about a 15/ 16 hour flight so i'm thinking he might not start similarly with Ayew being away on international duty and a 10 hour flight and all the travel may start on bench.
However Guzan i think will play despite his 2 match game time would start. They certainly some major excursion exertion going on but thats the rigours of the international players we have. I like to think the players are up to the strength and conditioning side of things it can more be the affects to  concentration which could hinder a start for the Sanchez and Ayew players.

15 hours from New York? Maybe via the Bahamas!

Is Charles Lindbergh the pilot ?

I hate us playing Leicester, I never look forward to it. I didn't expect us to knock them out the cup last season so I just hope Villa surprise me again tomorrow.

If he was he'd be pretty happy with that time. ;)

If fits, I'd go with Grealish, Gil and Adama behind Sinclair. It is a bet but I'm curious to see if this lot of gifted players can play together.

Stop teasing. I mean the journey to and fro is  15/16 hours on a plane in total and think is factor.

How do we feel about 3 centre backs?
Guzan
Clark Lescottie and Richards
Amavi Vertout Westwood Bacuna
Gabby Gestede Sinclair
Are you seriously putting Amavi on the right with Richards & Bacuna on the left?

No they won the toss and swapped ends ! Or look at it in the mirror! Anyways do u like 3 at the back?

I'd like to see a really good performance.

These last few years we've really not had much in the way of consistently playing well. To put it mildly.

I can't stand 3 at the back and hope Tim doesn't go for it.  The only ways it can work are:

If you dominate the ball and can push the 3 right across the pitch with a defensive midfielder able to drop in to cover the counter, effectively this makes it a 3-4-3 (or some derivative of that).  If you lose the ball a lot this doesn't work as the wide players end up getting pushed deeper and it becomes the second scenario of...
You play a 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 and try to defend and counter with a big target man and 2-3 very fast players breaking around him.  The difficulty here is that you fall into MON-ball territory of being totally reliant of set-pieces and counter-attacks.

The real skill to it would be to switch between the high possession version in some games and the counter-attack version in others and I don't think there's any side around who would be capable of doing that.  Even worse the 'benefits' of doing it are easily replicated with 4 at the back but give you a lot more flexibility.  Barca set out as a fairly simple 433 but in games it's very rare for that 4 to hold position, there's usually 3 at the back with the wide spread across the ptich, with Busquets often the 3rd in there.  This is also why they pick a back 4 with Alves, Vermaelen and Mascherano who are all very good at stepping forward out of defence and joining in with the play (but none are great defenders).

I refuse to regard the likes of bloody Leicester as anything other than a speed bump for the mighty Aston Villa.

Villa win. 0-2 Richards off a set piece and Gil with a slinky little solo effort.

Gone for an away win here with this one. We'll have a bit too much for them. Decent side though Leicester. It wil be a tough one.

I've always been a fan of 3-5-2: but it relies on the strength, game-reading capability and mobility of the three at the back.
I'd be looking to play Kozak today, for his movement and hold-up play.

looking forward to this one,
early season optimism maybe but I fancy us
to really start to look the part and come away
with 3 points and a 3-0

Vardy use to wear an electronic tag and was convicted of assault in his earlier years. He seemed little remorseful on his ssn interview about the racial slur incident saying he wanted to draw a line under it and its never nice seeing himself on the front pages but always good on the back.

On 3 at the back I would like that if Sanchez was starting in midfield so he is an extra protection .

I hope grealish or traore are fit I don't think Tim fancies to play Gil but I could be wrong.
Richards is 20/1 to score anytime in match and Scott Sinclair 4/1 I think they are both decent odds.
Still think 3-1 to us 😊 40/1
