Although Benteke was a decent source of goals no one else in recent seasons has been so other than him there isn't a lot to replace (in theory).

Ayew, Gestede, Sinclair and Kozak plus Gabby would need to provide us with 25-30+ league goals which doesn't seem to be out of the question and a midfield of Traore, Gil, Grealish plus Veretout/Bacuna certainly looks to have more goals in it than the Cleverley, Delph, Westwood combination of last season - and not simply because there is 5 of them rather than 3!

Lescott and Richards have historically had the knack of scoring the odd goal too which would also make a difference so not losing too much sleep that we missed out on the Adebayor loon!

I'm holding out hope that the small net-spend means there's a fair bit left in the kitty for January. If we're really struggling for goals, I can see Sherwood addressing the problem then.

It is no surprise though is it that the guy is a nutter, any one that has seen his actions and comments knew this.
This is why I was surprised there was such a clamour for him on here.
Desperate.

And our Lord told him he was a greedy useless c*%t and shouldn't tarnish our great club.
The title of this thread should be changed to Adebayor - A busted flush.

He's been released by Spurs this morning. Don't think we could sign and play him before January even if we wanted to though?

If he's a free agent then I don't think there would be any issues. Rules-wise, that is. There are tons of other issues that would stop me thinking it was a good idea.

Yes. He's no longer with a club so like Vlaar he's in the shop window waiting for a buyer.
