We are heading into tow Tuesday afternoon pre-game. I don't drink up town pre-match, any recommendations? Was thinking of the Sun on the Hill.

From the official site:

Tim Sherwood says Idrissa Gana and Adama Traore are both doubts for the Birmingham City game - but the manager is optimistic about the latest update on the former Barcelona winger.

Gana was due to face West Brom but was forced to pull out on the eve of the game after injuring his hamstring in training.

That makes him a doubt for the Capital One Cup clash.

Traore also looks set to sit out the B6 encounter.

The wideman hasn't featured since coming off against Notts County in the previous round.

But Sherwood revealed that Traore is back in light training at Bodymoor Heath.

He said: "Gana was going to play on Saturday but he had a recurrence of his injury on Friday in training.

"It was a blow and changed the plans - but that happens.

"Traore is getting better.

"He is starting to run outside now. He has the protective boot off.

"I am just listening to the experts and taking their advice.

"He is a young player and we have a long season ahead.

"We don't want to ruin him for the sake of bringing him back too early.

"He's very doubtful for Tuesday."

I'd give anywhere close to the station a wide berth, I am guessing bouncers and a heavy police presence. If was in town I'd probably be looking at somewhere off Colmore Row.

Reliably informed that for the Albion cup game their firm was in the Sun on the Hill and ours was virtually next door in the briar rose, so as chris suggests best avoid any pubs near new street

in the late 70s i used to go out with a bird who sold pies and burgers in the kop by that big clock
i even went to a few blues matches with my blue nose brother and his mates so i could meet her straight after the match
and even stood in the kop for a villa blues match , so i could have a couple of free pies
then after the match i would meet my bird in the blues supporters club by that clock
they were all singing and dancing on the tables because they had beat us 5 times in a row
i went for a piss and one twat said to me great isnt it mate , beating the bastards 5 times in a row
then he says i still think the board should go  , what do you think and i said
dont give a shit mate i am a villa fan   ,, you should have seen his face

Was she called Angie?

The Victoria is handy for New St without being an obvious pre match pub full of undesirables.

I can't see this game being anything other than a huge opportunity for the great unwashed, sadly.

Gueye and Adama 'very doubtful'.

I wouldn't play Adama, Gil or Jack in this. No point risking them getting a kicking.

We need to play our strongest side available. The effect of losing would be hugely detrimental to an already fragile confidence.

We'll twat them though 3-0.
