There isn't really anywhere in the city that is theirs. They don't have the sort of strongholds like we do.

There are Villa to be found in large amounts all over Birmingham, especially the north and west, with the Noses condensed in a rather small corridor in the east and south of the city, which they may at best share with us on a 50/50 basis.

Beyond Shirley, Solihull and out towards Knowle and Dorridge, you would struggle to find anything other than the odd Nose outside the city either.

Hence why you could fit their home support in the Holte End (as we will find out on Tuesday of course.)

Its also amusing that they've still not sold out their routine 2800 allocation. Their away support is generally so small (they average 1500) that they've struggled to get anybody to buy in a criteria as low as 5 away games. Shows how dense their ticket office is really, as they'll have all the available data which confirms they usually take a couple hundred to places, bar a few like the Molineux and Derby where they actually take a following to boost their average.

I'm from the other side of the motorway (B35), very much a Villa stronghold when I lived there in the 70's & 80's.
I have a massive family spread all over Brum and we're (almost) 100% Villa apart from one renegade cousin from Weoley Castle who is Wolves bizarrely enough.

Apparently that Chelmsley/Vale split goes back to the fact that when they did the post war slum clearances from Aston and Hockley, those families mostly went to the Vale. When similar happened in Small Heath, those families, including my grandmother, went to Chelmsley.

I used to do a job that involved visiting folk in Yardley, the righteous were a little thin on the ground to be honest, in my experience, same in Acocks Green.

Lived in Yardley nearly all my life and there's no way b25 is a majority nose area, very few of them go to the games and in general it's 50/50. Now Sheldon down the road, that's a nose area, but it would be, it's nearly in Solihull.

The surrounding areas Cheltenham, Lichfield, Worcester are virtually Blues free zones but do have their fair share of Manc, Liv, glory hunters (and Cheltenham Town for those with special needs).

Agree as far as Worcester is concerned, but I heard recently that there is now a Blues-minded pub in the city. Didn't have that in my day (up to early 90s) - mainly Villa along with the aforementioned "never been to a game" Liverpool and ManU fans.

Droitwich, however, was always a different kettle of fish. Plenty of Villa but also loads of noses.

I can only imagine what a ''blue minded'' pub looks like. Something like the pub from the first Star Wars film no doubt.

The club in Airplane - the Blue Oyster was it? Summat like that.

Nah, the one where the pilot got stabbed and his bird thought he was doing a new dance move and was copying him.

Growing up in Kingstanding, I'd never met a nose until I started work in the Jewellery Quarter.
Having left there about 35yrs ago, I decided to go back and take a look around. To my shock and horror I saw three lads on the circle with blues tops on...WTF!

Dont worry Diced,

Kingstanding is still very Villa, them muppets you saw most likely hadnt paid their coach fare and the driver thought he'd teach them a leason.

Yes, you're right, just googled it. Whoever said the Magumbo was right about Airplane.

In my defence, whenever we go to the Twin Towers pub in Ladywood, my auntie calls it the Blue Oyster, as she thinks it's the name of the club in Airplane, I will have to inform her so we can re-christen the Twin the Magumbo. If you've been in you'll know what I mean.
