I now fear for this game as I hoped we would go into it at least in some kind of form. I think the Baggies will rough us up and at least one of our flair players will get hurt and our confidence must be really low atm

Really wish we was not playing the feckers to be honest - ever

Remember thinking similar when we had the two games against Albion in a week and we know what happened there. Keep the faith.

It's either away only or closed. The decision hasn't yet been made.

I'd keep it open for away fans. Best place to herd them together. Having said that, you know the fuzz will close it down about half six anyway.
Herding them together makes sense in some ways but could also be an invitation for them to "officially" go nuts...and could be a magnet for any of the Villa boys who maybe up for it.
Can't imagine either of the sets of away fans treating "Villa" pubs with anything resembling respect...damage will be done.

Dave W: I assume it's WMP who make the decision about away only/closing?
the police can't force the pub to open to serve only noses if the pub doesn't want to, surely?

True. But it was cursed, I reckon. I came off it in Lewisham and then gave it to Martin who was knocked off it by a white van man in Stoke Newington. I last saw it leaning against his shed in Nottingham. Any road up, back to Blues.....

Not forced to open, no.
But give them the Hobson's Choice of away only (highly dodgy) or close (makes things easier to police).

Why? Was it part of community work?

Approximately 26,000 tickets sold so far. Shocking.

26,000 gone for 3rd round League Cup tie against second division garbage is good going with a week to go.

Glad there are some left, as I am looking to pick up extra tickets with a spare reference number when it gets down to just a varied booking criteria tomorrow.

Does a "varied booking" basically include anyone who's ever been to a home game and is on the systems?

Think there will be plenty shifted once it goes to varied history. I understand why they've done it, but with the time restraints of being able to sell tickets, it may be the case this one doesn't sell out.

Yes pretty much. It's basically like general sale but obviously stops noses buying tickets. Seen people asking for references on Twitter but the simple fact is if you've ever been to a home game (that wasn't Blues) you'll get a ticket.

surely if it goes to general sale it would sell out?  Would be a tad embarrassing if it does not to be honest

I don't think it will come close to selling out. Looking like 35,000 if we're lucky.
