As soon as I got off the bus you could just tell that night was different. It was like you could smell the hate and violence in the air. I've been going to games for 40 years and seen some real sickening violence, especially as a nipper in the 70s/early 80s, real nasty stuff that scared the shit out of me and was very upsetting to see. But i've never felt an atmosphere like that night.
This.
I've always thought of it as the very definition of an electric atmosphere - the place was crackling with pure hate.

And this is what sets our derbies against the Albion aside. Some may dislike them, some may not but games against them are never anywhere close to the feeling of nasty brutal hatred that can be felt at these games from start to finish.

let them talk the talk because they know they won't do jack shit on the night unless they can surround a couple of 15 year-olds with a mob of 10 or so and give them a slap. Or, of course bravely wonder around town having a go at individuals. Bring the fuckers on. Its about time we had this night. 03 was theirs and fair dues it was horrible to endure but that was theirs. The build up to this feels closer to that night more than any game since and there is a real sense of us wanting this big time. And I mean big time.
Very much this. All my family, mates and any other Villa fans I've spoken to are bang up for this. Nobody is even mentioning the Albion and that game has gone by the wayside which could be to our detriment as the crowd won't be as up for that game now.

Popped over to SHA forum again whilst bored at work, apparantly they have a private forum on there with 'loads of tickets in the Villa ends' being offered. A private forum for who? There's only ten people on there.

So people who are afraid of getting public transport to the game in case they bump into some nasty Villa fans are gonna watch the game sitting in the middle of thirteen thousand of us?

Okay then.

Does anyone know if you can pick a different seat to your ST seat if you're buying a ticket for this?

Speaking of which, can season ticket holders buy tickets for people with no booking history for last season? My wife and her mate want tickets. (They're both Villa fans).

If you hadn't bought your season ticket seat by 18:00pm today it will have been released so you can sit where you like/can now

Is that not what 'variable booking history' is for? Fans who might not have gone last season, but do have a client ref and a booking history for other seasons?

You could choose to move anyway, just in case you need this info for future reference. My ST is Lower Holte but I've relocated to Upper Holte as it was the only was for me to sit with my GF.

You can relocate your ST for league games too, they issue a free exchange ticket for the game and deactivate your ST.

We've just had two kids who are now three and five. Apart from Notts County the other week and Rotherham a couple of years ago, (paid on the gate for both games) she hasn't been for years. It's her mate's first ever game if she comes.

Ta for the reply hipkiss, and you spangly.

I think "variable" just means different matches against various opposition rather than in different seasons.

So if you'd only ever bought tickets for three Villa matches, all at home to Man U, then phoned up for more Villa v Man U tickets they might assume you were a glory-hunting tossbag rather than a Villa fan.

I imagine they'll be fine if they've been to games this season but not last season so long as it was against more than one opponent.

This is guesswork, admittedly.

Just read your subsequent post. I reckon paid on the gate could be a problem unless they made a note of their name, address and contact details on the computer.

It's a combination of all that. Variable as in different matches against various opposition over however many seasons.

Well what I meant was, buying a different seat out of choice as a lad I know was getting me one off his ST but I wanted to sit somewhere else in the ground. Anyway irrelevant now cos he is now going. I've got booking history for 2+ games last season, am I basically fucked for this?

I'd imagine you'd probably struggle then, unless you know someone else with an unused client ref to borrow off.
