They have plenty to complain about.  And rightly so.  Shit team, shit ground, crooked owners, Villa supporting manager, chav fan base, massive chip on shoulder/complex/obsession with us to name but a few.

Breaks yer 'art tom.

They can't complain about the chip on (both) shoulders/complex/obsession with us because without that they have nothing. One cup draw against us and their support appears to have temporarily trebled.

Finally got my son and I's usual seats at lunchtime. My brain is so frazzled I can't remember if I have spent one and a half or two and a half days with a phone glued to my hand.

If we had been offered 10,000 or so for the Cup Final in May we'd all be up in arms as well about it, so I can sympathise with them to some degree. It's their Cup Final and they get less than 3,000 tickets, no wonder they are gutted, there's 12,000 or so of them who are going to miss their sole purpose for existing. Shame really.

I had the 'we've won a cup more recently than you have' line thrown at me last night. I replied that surely that is just as you would expect seeing as they are the biggest club in the city. Totally threw him. I always find noses think of what they think is a clever remark but never have a back up one in the event of you actually answering them back. Apart from my cousin who always has his "yeh, but Villa are shit" as a plan B. It isn't great but he seems to regard it as his get out of jail free card for life.

I don't know if it's been mentioned previously, but I've always thought that Blues, Blues always lose because they play in ballet shoes.  Do any other readers share my view?

They love the 'all your fans are from Worcester, Redditch and Lichfield anyway'. I just say to them 'if you have the majority of the support in the second biggest city in the country, that makes your attendances even worse then.' Still awaiting a decent comeback to that.

As soon as I got off the bus you could just tell that night was different. It was like you could smell the hate and violence in the air. I've been going to games for 40 years and seen some real sickening violence, especially as a nipper in the 70s/early 80s, real nasty stuff that scared the shit out of me and was very upsetting to see. But i've never felt an atmosphere like that night.
This.
I've always thought of it as the very definition of an electric atmosphere - the place was crackling with pure hate.

And this is what sets our derbies against the Albion aside. Some may dislike them, some may not but games against them are never anywhere close to the feeling of nasty brutal hatred that can be felt at these games from start to finish.

let them talk the talk because they know they won't do jack shit on the night unless they can surround a couple of 15 year-olds with a mob of 10 or so and give them a slap. Or, of course bravely wonder around town having a go at individuals. Bring the fuckers on. Its about time we had this night. 03 was theirs and fair dues it was horrible to endure but that was theirs. The build up to this feels closer to that night more than any game since and there is a real sense of us wanting this big time. And I mean big time.

Very much this. All my family, mates and any other Villa fans I've spoken to are bang up for this. Nobody is even mentioning the Albion and that game has gone by the wayside which could be to our detriment as the crowd won't be as up for that game now.

Popped over to SHA forum again whilst bored at work, apparantly they have a private forum on there with 'loads of tickets in the Villa ends' being offered. A private forum for who? There's only ten people on there.

Disagree. The 333 monkey came off our back in the 5-1 game. This game is just lower league cannon fodder talking big before being despatched. With added allocation complaints.
