Anyone know anywhere in Fuerteventura that may be showing the game? Me and the wife will be missing it unfortunately, we don't talk about each others teams much except on derby day.

We went on Holiday to Zante in September 2013.  Went to the Welcome meeting and the Holiday Rep was a guy in his 50s, no hair, very few teeth and from Birmingham.
Villa played Newcastle on the Saturday or maybe the Sunday and it was on the TV at the Sports Bar.  Got there half hour before Kick Off and there was the rep at the bar getting pissed wearing his Blues Top.
There were various TV's so I picked one as far away from him as possible.  I could still hear him shouting "Villa Scum" when the Teams came out and celebrating Wildly when Newcastle scored.

Obviously he was there on his own.

I’ve been putting a bit of thought into this fixture.

Living in yam-yam land as I have for the last couple of years or so, I have been exposed to the bitterness of the stripeyfilth to such a degree that they have become the main focus on my footballing shitlist and I admit that I have played into their coal-stained tatter mitts with regard to that. Blues have slipped into the background as a complete non-entity since their relegation and not living in Solihull any more has obviously meant that I don’t bump into too many of the denizens of hades these days.

However, I can feel the old fire coming back a bit now. The old nonsense is back from the dogshitters;

•   Villa fans aren’t from the city

•   hundreds of Zulus in the Holte End, taking the piss and taking over when the ticketing criteria suggests this is an impossibility, there will be HUNDREDS there

•   BCFC are the working-class team in Brum, when most of their support comes from Solihull and the surrounding towns (see first point for further evidence of cognitive dissonance from the village idiots)

•   a horde of them getting lost trying to find Sherlock St, despite the claim that they’re the real brummies from the city

•   talk of getting mobbed up in town and marching to VP like the police don’t read internet message boards and with the added inference that they would actually be able to find their own way there

•   old men talking about “what *really* happened on Rocky Lane”, like anyone with even a bit of common sense would give a flying fuck about that

•   having noted shitcunt Robbie Savage as a hero because he poked Olof Mellberg in the eye when he wasn’t looking (Mellberg got the last laugh in the 5-1 game, inbreds!)

•   finally winning a second trophy in 136 years of mind-bogglingly shit football teams and curiously dropping the ‘historians’ taunt

•   “we’ll be there” when they never fucking are since the Rover got closed down or something

•   moaning about ticket allocations when they barely have a home following let alone an away one

•   Stephen Carr’s wanker sign to the Witton End after losing to us yet again – he’s obviously a hero to these fuckwits now

•   being shit enough to be sold by the current owners of West Ham, robbing us of the comedy trinity of Pornodwarf, Mr Tumnus and Manjaw

•   being shit enough to be the only team in history to follow up that comedy farce with an even better comedy farce with their new hairdressing owner who is in gaol in Hong Kong over money laundering

•   somehow continually escaping receivership season after season after the actions of said new owner

•   making out they’re hardcases and then all getting official club coaches for the four-mile trip to VP (although to be fair to them they would probably get lost if they had to walk)

•   comedy diary listing our trophies and admitting how awesome it is to have more than one shelf in the trophy cabinet

•   knowing more about Villa teams of days gone by than we do because of their obsession with us….

…..anyone care to add to this? I’d forgotten about them until now, the twats. Let’s smash them.

May I add to this with the, apparently true, story about them chucking petrol on a fire at the Sty, caused by a bomb during WWII?

May I add (in my other guise) the sheer overwhelming joy of the play off semi- final when Beelzelbub tried to claim that the penalties shoukd have been taken th the half demolished Town End and the ensuing delight as Noe after Nose after Nose stepped up and missed the spot kicks. The smug satisifaction of a 92 minute free kick from Ross Wallace to deny them the championship title and a special mention for Barry Fry who gave endless pleasure to all for his Nose related antics.
That said and I know there are different views on this, but I love the atmosphere at these games. I will never forget the "they're coming uo they're going down" chant - astonishingly loud! Savage- fucking weasel, always will be. Altogether now "They're coming up......"

Christ, can't a season ticket holder express concern?

Nose alert. To be fair the disguise is cunning - the ability to type.

Not sure about the ability to type, looks like he typed the Hendrie4lyf bit with his massive forehead.

Given the "REFUGEES WELCOME" banner thing doing the rounds at the moment, maybe we should have some kind of "NOSES NOT WELCOME" thing.

I thought you were about to suggest a banner saying FOOTBALL REFUGEES WELCOME EXCEPT YOU LOT

There are about half-a-dozen threads about us just on the front page of that site - good going considering there seems to be about ten people on there. And it's their busiest one apparently.

All that stuff about being from the city... a lot of my mates from Chelmsley in Solihull say it with irony, some of the brain-donors on there seem to actually believe it.

I wonder if the ones who visit here ever notice or wonder about how much better at spelling and grammar we are? Looking objectively it's very noticeable. I suppose the ones capable of seeing it put it down to our private education.

I love that they seem to have annointed the Gary Rowett character as the clever one, although I suppose it's all relative. A bit like them saying we're not a big club. Fair enough, they're bound to say that - but relative to them? Some of the ones I know think THEY'RE a big club! No, really.

They don't mention the coaches much. Fair enough, neither would I.

They are, without doubt, the funniest local rivals any club in any city could be blessed with. But only when they don't mean to be.

You would be un-surprised to learn that a lot of the members of the Old Sills' various teams are 'noses.

Good post Stu. You forget to mention their hero, the fuckwit Paul Tait.

Are you sure you spelt his surname right? I think the two T's are in the right place.

The fuckers are all over FB jibbing about their low allocation.

But here's the latest, despite their lower allocation they will still out sing us!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder what  they will be singing?!!
