We better win as I plan to hang one (or all) of my Villa flags out my classroom window as the students come into school on the Wednesday.

I enjoyed ripping the piss out of the Blose fans (teachers and students) at my last school whenever we beat them and will look forward to doing the same thing again should we win.

It's an ideal draw for them, not us.

All the league's lesser lights dream of an away tie at a big club and a share of the gate receipts.

I remember the league cup win 1-0 when deano scored
The 6-0 was bittersweet as a close mate of mine Tony Elliott made his debut for the scummy shit bags in goal and he was personally at fault for 2 or 3 of the goals (I paid him next day )

What I remember most about Saunders winner was Jimmy Greaves insisting on the highlights show that he was offside and when presented with the evidence that he wasn't, insisted that there was no way the linesman could have spotted that he wasn't and flagged him for being offside.

Terry Cooper was the same.

Greaves didn't think Tait should have been sent off, and even when told and shown that Saunders couldn't have been offside, he still said he should have been flagged.

I remember that as well.  Saunders must have 4 or 5 yards inside our half when the ball was played.

It might be my imagination, but didn't he come out with a quote after the 2 games saying something along the lines of "I've played in the Trent derby and the Merseyside derby but I've  never experienced anything like that.  Pure hatred"?

Either way Sherwood is about to find out that any Lancashire derby or North London job are but dress rehearsals for the real thing.

I think a lot of them will have an idea what this will be like. All they need to be told is multiply the Bitters QF a few times and they'll be close to what this will be like.

The toilets in the away end will be shitting themselves.

Nobody else should though because the Zulus never do anything at Villa Park.

At least half the team weren't here for that.  Fortunately they get a rehearsal of their own a few days before.

As you say.  Take that atmosphere, multiply by 10 and you'll be somewhere close to the atmosphere by Monday afternoon.

I hate playing them. You are sick to the pit of your stomach for days thinking about the fallout should they win. There is all of the unpleasantness that goes with it and we can't win. Particularly now they are in their rightful position a division below. We win and it us business as usual. They win and you will never hear the fucking end of it. It will be trotted out in 20 years time when you are bickering with one of them.

Mind you, vanquishing the region's pretenders in half a week sounds tremendous.

Exactly how I am.
