Reckon today things will fall into place a little more - 1-2 I'm saying.

Their home form is of some concern to them. That could play into our hands if they get frustrated...

Setting off in about an hours time to the game with my Palace supporting daughter.

Not confident, still early days for us, would take 1.1 now.  Not likely to see too many games this season so hope all the Jordans play and Gestade with a cameo from Traore.

Omens aren’t particularly encouraging for tomorrow:

22 Aug   2010   a   Newcastle United L 0-6 Prem
22 Aug   1987   h   Birmingham City L 0-2 D2
22 Aug   1984   n   Boca Juniors   L 0-2 Pre-season game at Nou Camp
22 Aug   1961   a   Rotherham United   L 0-2 LC Final 1st Leg

Only a few notable results:

22 Aug   2001   h   FC Basel W 4-1 InterToto
22 Aug   1981   n   Tottenham Hotspurs D 2-2 Charity Shield at Wembley
22 Aug   1887   a   Small Heath Alliance   W 3-0 Friendly

To me all they show is that most years we don't play on this date and when we do we sometimes win and sometimes lose. However, when we play in London on 22 Aug we draw and go on to finish the season with a major trophy. That's not gloomy.

It will be interesting to see how far down the road we are today now that the players have had a couple of weeks together. I'm actually looking forward to the game, it will be tough but we're a hard working side and will more than match anything Palace throw at us.

Four bad results on this day in 54 years doesn't really indicate bad omens, does it?

Four results over that period is an "omen" ?? Think you should look at the Man Utd "omen" on any specific day over 50 + yrs !!!
2,800 Villa fans to silence the Crystal Palace fans with two early goals 1-2 ......

Agbonlahor is selected therefore we have lost already. What must Ayew be thinking!

Yes that's quite true but he deserves a few games to get into the swing of things, as our most expensive import. Glad Carlos has been selected however.

Just noticed , no Bolassie for them (not even on the bench) thats a bonus with Bacuna at right back. Is he in dispute with the club?
