Well I was feeling positive about this game, but having read Gregg Evans article in the Mail I now realise we have no chance.  I appreciate him dampening my optimism and I can now prepare myself for the mauling we will undoubtedly, and deservedly, receive from this forward thinking shining light of a club.

All is well with the world.

Lawrenson has us down to lose 2-0 and we all know how much he knows.

Imaginative punt as ever

"Interesting press conference today. The Adebayor rumours once again get scotched, there's nothing doing there. Grealish and Carles Gil are both available for the Palace game.

"But today Tim Sherwood was playing down expectations around Adama Traore. He signed for £7m but the Villa boss says he's a 'development project' - not really one for this season. I must admit I thought he'd be playing at some stage but Sherwood today said 'I don't want people to think he's the saviour of Aston Villa'

Ha, love Sherwood playing down Traore.."not one for this season" indeed.
He didn't play in the u21 game in the week for nothing...I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him start. Grealish and Gil both available and they are coming back from injuries, so Traore would be ahead of them you'd have thought....

Fantastic to have Grealish & Gil come back.

I really hope Gil gets a proper run in the team.

Palace seem to be a settled side and we will be a bit unorganised for a while so I think we'll suffer a narrow defeat. Worried about our fullbacks being exposed too. 2-1 them.

I'd bring both Jack and Gil into the midfield.

Dangerous when you consider Selhurst Park is up a hill.

Very much doubt Traore will start. I suspect he will stick with Gabby and Ayew .

We'll see more of Adama than Sherwood is saying, but I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't in the squad for this one. I'll go for on the bench vs County.

I think we'll see Grealish, Gil and Adama all start against County, probably behind Ayew, I expect Veretout and Sanchez in midfield as well.

I hope 1 of Grealish or Gil starts tomorrow and the other and possible Adama make the bench, we need to see how we look up front with the creative players in behind.

That deserves a nod.
