I suppose the best thing to do against Palace is to give him 20mins in the second half to give him an idea of the pace of the EPL. At 19 he should be able to manage that.

It seemed like a 4 4 1 1 but bizarrely with Veretout out of position wide right and Gabby playing behind Ayew

There is a full back out there in one of the other 19 sides and he is sat in bed, and he doesn't know this, but one day, maybe real soon, he is going to have to defend against Toure and Amavi. Ouch.

I am very happy with this signing. Even if it takes a good while to work out, it shows we are heading in the right direction.

Once he is match fit he should be on the bench.  He should then be given as many opportunities as possible, whether it is 15 minutes or 30 minutes.  I think it would be too much for him to put him under the pressure that starting a game would bring.

A fast and direct player coming off the bench can at times change a game completely if he can take on and beat a defender a couple of times.  Although it is not the same, I think Sterling, although not playing great himself, seems to have lifted Man City to a different level from last season with the faster tempo.  He may not be worth £49m but if he can get that team playing better, I think they will think it money well spent.

If he's fit then play him. Simple as that.

Despite his age, a player of his experience (albeit only one first team game for Barcelona) and confidence hasn't come here to warm the bench or take his time bedding in. He doesn't strike me as the type of player that feels pressure so throw him and see if he sinks or swims...in fact, I think he's exactly the type of player and character that will literally hit the ground running and thrive under any so-called pressure given the chance to showcase his skills...just hope the rest of the forward line can keep up with him.

The longer we persevere with a forward line of Gabby, Ayew and Sinclair the longer we'll go without goals and points.

It depends how ready he is comparatively to Grealish and/or Gil I suppose. It's quite possible that the subtlety those two provide might be just as effective as what he brings to the table.

with respect if the lad is fit enough, play him it's the only way to see if he's going to make it in the PL or not. Having said that, maybe Notts County would be a useful baptism. -

Pace? None of the Palace defenders will be able to catch Traore!

Start with Gestede and Adama. It's time Gabby had a 'come off the bench on 70 and frighten tired defenders' role.

For Palace I'd go

Defence
Veretout Gueye Westwood
Traore Sinclair
Gestede

Ayew on as a sub depending on the situation.

Haha Gabby dropped! You're having a laugh aren't you?

Actually there's nothing funny about that because he won't be dropped.
