There's a guardian writer who often appears on their podcast.  She is very good and certainly knowledgeable (if slightly biased to arsenal).
Amy Lawrence possibly?

Her or Louise Taylor.  Both pretty good, aside from the time one of the two tipped Jozy Altidore to be Sunderland's best player.

Great, every week I watch it I get see Ferguson and Kidd on the pitch in 1993 during the opening credits. Tossers.

I'm sick to death of seeing that on Sky on that crappy advert with Henry.

I quite like Thierry Henry so don't mind that advert, except for the bit when Martin Tyler screams "Aguerrrro!!". That makes me shout at the TV every time. Pillock.

Amy Lawrence is one of the best football journalists out there.

I think we need to get off this topic of discussing female presenters obvious quality and get on with celebrating Michael Owen's insightful, astute and deeply intellectual punditry.

He's a pretty energising and enthusiastic tour guide too:

Nothing, I can appreciate hot, male or female. It's wrong to judge someone just on their posts*, but I don't think that Tone would press my buttons.

*it isn't

I thought the Football League show was bad, but it wasn't as shit as that Channel 5 abomination I watched last night.

The stupid woman on the Football League show does my head in. Why is it that the majority of women on TV to present/discuss sport, haven't got a fucking clue. All they know is Man Utd/Man City/Arsenal/Chelsea and the EPL. Not a fucking clue and irritating. The dopey mare on BBC breakfast (the one who looks like a horse), is also a fucking idiot.

There's a lot of shit male presenters, but the good to bad ratio is better than the women's. Eleanor Oldroyd is about the only decent female sports presenter I can currently think of.

I blame Sky Sports.

Surely the only requirements should be is, 1) not be annoying and 2) have a clue what you're talking about.

Wow.
