Reading the report on the Times web site, it's like Bournemouth were a creative, passing side and we were the hopeful lumpers.

That's not even remotely the way it looked to me.

It's bollocks, based entirely on reputation and misreading the stats. Obviously Bournemouth had much more of the ball than we did - we were winning, therefore we defended. Both teams played the ball on the ground and counter-attacked as quickly as they good.

I swear Mr McParland is looking younger all the time.

That's what I thought. I went to school with 2 of his nephews who are the spitting image of him, and he looks younger than them.

A lot of the time it's hard supporting the villa. Non football fans will ever get it but I fuckin love my beloved Aston Villa.

I liked hearing Sherwood talk about the importance of 'imagination' in our play, and that he wants more of it.

Can anyone confirm Kozak was injured?

I think he must be otherwise having Gabby picked ahead of him is quite an insult.

In the interview he explains his thought process for how he wanted the game to proceed and it worked. Sherwood is always going to get pelters for being a "run araaahhhhnd a bit" coach, but it looks like he might have a bit more to him than that. I hope.

Happy with that. Some pleasing solidity at the back. Nice to get a win as the team figures out how to work with each other. Bit disturbed by Ayew's poor touches but hopefully he will come into his own. Amavi is great :)

A difficult start for us and we had to ride  storm a little, but a well earned win and a great finish from Gestede.  Certainly can take a lot of encouragement from today.

Amused to hear that Setanta had Lambert on and he was criticizing us for playing the ball backwards too much in the first half......,,,,,,,

#irony

He must have been quite shocked at the sight of a shot on goal.

I'm trying to think of a suitable analogy. Thatcher criticising Cameron's anti-union stance?

Over to you...

Blatter talking about the disgrace that was England's World Cup bid - can't remember the exact words.

I had a dream last night that we won and Gestede scored from a header (cross from the left, for what it's worth).

Quite happy with my prediction! Fucking love Rudy, he's gonna be good for us!
