in the end a very good win indeed. Not an easy place to go first game vs a promoted team. All hail Rudy

Clean sheet, new striker wins it with a goal Benteke would have been proud of . Gotta be happy with that.

Looked like a team full of new players, having said that the front 3 wasn't working so its refreshing too have a manager that can see that and change it and the change won us the match, Richards brilliant second half.

Bournemouth have a nice system, think they'll do fine. I don't think we looked particularly good, but a clean sheet, a debut goal and three points make my weekend.

Benteke, who?

Certainly got the impression a lot of people were rooting for Bournemouth. Great result.

Excellent performance by the back 4 and Gueye in particular. Veretout and Westwood did their jobs in being tidy on the ball and working hard, and squeezed out just enough chances for one of them to be taken.

I like this from Chris Sutton:

Quote
Rudy Gestede is the best at what he does in the country. People can't handle him. He went for £6m and people are talking about £12m for Jordan Rhodes. It doesn't make sense.

Not conceding the late goal. Typical effing Villa, eh?

If I'd done a prediction I'd have said loads of goals, mostly by Bournemouth. Clearly clueless here.
