let's hope he's the polar opposite of  Luna; players that bad should only be stumbled across once in a blue moon. As ever we can judge him once he starts playing for us.

He looks like that bank executive dude who got killed Hans Gruber in Die Hard.

From whoscored....

+ Strengths
Blocking the ball
- Weaknesses
Passing

José Ángel Crespo's Style of Play
Plays the ball off the ground often
Clears the ball out of defence often

Sounds like he'll fit right into the Villa way.

It's been a while ago but I remember Shaun Teale being a bit like that. He did ok. :-)

Sounds like he's marginally better than Luna.  I don't understand these sort of signings when we should have someone in our academy coming through who will be equally as good.

Has Luna gone?
When can we ofload Cissokho?
Bennett would be good back-up for Amavi.

But is he really better than senderos, Richardson or cissokho. We've got quantity already.

I'd guess the fact that he can play anywhere along the back four and that he's almost certainly on a smaller salary makes it good business sense to replace those three players with one player.

We need quality, not quantity. Strange signing.

both luna and this guy came through the ranks at sevilla as well. both not good enough for their first team.

Cheaper than Luna eeeeek  :-\

he was on loan at cordoba from bologna last season. they made the deal permanent for €250k at the end of april.

villa have triggered his €1m release clause...
