Some of us have beat this particular drum before Tuscans. In an ideal world we could all sit side-by-side with opposition fans and watch the game, after all we work with opposition fans, are friends with opposition fans and can watch a game in a pub full of opposition fans with no problems whatsoever. However, football supporting being the tribal hobby that it is, you don't take opposition fans into the Holte End, you just don't! Surely you have seen enough trouble before now when one gets outed, your mate might be the most well-behaved person in the World but it would take just one Villa fan to out him (an unfortunate utterance of "we" when talking about Man Utd or an inadvertant pumped fist when Young dives for a penalty) and he's liable to take the quick route down the steps like a fair few have done before him. If you must do it then don't bloody tell anyone! Least of all a forum full of Villa fans who, as a general rule, really detest the gloryhunting twats! I'm really not sure what sort of reaction you expected to be honest.

I'm really not sure what sort of reaction you expected to be honest. No I get it...I really do, but I'm big enough just to be honest about things. I'm a grown man, taking a mate to the football, in fact his first game. We're going up for a night out, for a laugh with my other mate who's a Villa fan. I can't turn round and say, "You can't come to Birmingham with your mates because you support another team".I find it pathetic to be honest, I'll take whoever I like, it's my money that's going back into Villas pockets. So what if he supports another team, he's never been to Old Trafford and I'm taking him to experience his first football match as a form of bloody entertainment. He's good mates with James Collins and he asked him many a time if he ever wanted tickets to go up he would sort him out, we all must wankers.I bet half of you are hypocrites on here. You all have mates who support other teams, if you wanted a day out with them, a laugh, watch a bit of football, I'm sure you would get a ticket for them if they were a good friend. What if my father supported another team and we both went up, same reaction? Or my kids supported another team, the same? Some of you really know how to spoil a day out.

You really can't see the difference between a bunch of kids at an end of season nothing match and a Manchester United supporter who's never been to Old Trafford?

Of course there's a difference. But in your eyes you're seeing my mate wearing his Manc shirt and scarf, waving his arms in the air shouting "United, United". And I'm seeing a quiet 30 something old guy going up to experience a Premier League game for the first time who happens to watch the odd Man Utd game on TV. How many husbands and wives, one supporting Villa and another, West Brom, Birmingham etc have gone up to watch the same game....you have an issue with that too?

Others have a different view, and shouting the odds on here about what a stroke you've pulled and insulting anyone who thinks differently to you isn't the best way to get them onside.
So your mate has never been to a football match and might not know the correct etiquette to be a Man Utd fan in the Holte End then?As I say, one wrong move, gesture or inadvertant word and your big day out in Brum might well end up in Dudley Road A&E with him getting a few stitches put in.It's a sad state of affairs indeed, and I wouldn't have a problem being sat next to him even if he was wearing a half and half scarf, but there are plenty who do, as you can see from just this small sample on this thread. Multiply that by a few thousand Holte Enders and an afternoon on the lager and...well surely you can see can't you?

There hasn't been an insult from myself nor any intention on my behalf in thinking I'm bloody superior because I "broke" the system. I casually asked a question and was very straight in doing so. All someone had to say was that's not a very good idea at the time and I more than likely would of left it. Now I know how Villakicks feels.
A thirty year old bloke from South Wales whose never been to a game before. You can tell he's a Man United fan with out mentioning it.
