Call me biased, but Shaw at his brief peak was on another planet to anyone else. Which other Brummie was a star at world level? Then again, if Walters had played for us three or four years earlier you could have said the same about him.

As Dave says, Gary Shaw was on a different planet. One of the all time greats with Gordon Cowans.
Mark Walters was a fantastic player, probably one of the most skilful players we've had,  unfortunately, he came into a team that was on a bit of a slide.

Gary Shaw is the one who comes to mind first (as far as players in living memory are concerned). I did think about Sid Cowans but wasn't he born in County Durham?
