We do not have the curse of the Europa League to contend with; thank god for small mercies.

The queues for beer at The Green Man weren't too bad.

I've just gone to check and realised that the game hasn't recorded on my virgin box because I didn't have enough space for recordings.  Result.

We stopped the Gerrrarrrd Media frenzy.

The nation owes us for that.

As a body of people we should be given the George Cross as recognition. Like Malta got.

I did think it was quite funny when after the game The Anfield Wrap retweeted the photo of the Villa fans sat having a Gerrard birthday party on the way to Wembley asking how the party was going.

My lad was on the BBC news playing football outside Wembley in his villa shirt against some arsenal fans. His current claim to fame is that he has now scored at Wembley on cup final day.

It was a better match than the cup final.

Which was more than our lot have done since 1957

The tears of pride rolling down my cheeks singing 'Abide with me'.
I hope I don't have to wait another 15 years to sing it again.

I'm positive we won't win the FA Cup in my lifetime.

I've asked my brother to instruct my 3 year old niece to arrange for her elderly great grandchildren to take my ashes to the open top bus parade when we finally do it.

Something I found bizarre was that on the day my team were in the FA Cup Final my girlfriend (no interest in football, she's from Wigan) knew somebody on the pitch. A friend of hers was the Villa fan in the choir singing 'Abide With Me' and he was featured in the programme, to be fair to her she watched it all but just to gauge what mood her boys would be in.

Work tomorrow in a Tipton office full of Albion, Wolves & eggchasers.  It's only just begun.

Like many I have thought for a long time that I will never see Villa win the FA Cup. However I got to thinking yesterday. I know it's a grisly thought and I'm clutching at straws but I was born in January 1958 two weeks overdue. That means that when we won the cup in May 1957, my Mom was about 1 month pregnant with me. I am now content that we have won the cup in my "lifetime".

I have a similar birth thing going on, but in a bad sense.

The day after I was born, in 1968, Albion won the FA Cup.

Which means that they have won the FA Cup in my lifetime, but Villa haven't.

I'm going to be *so* relieved when we win it next year.

I had an amazing day (with a very poor 90 mins inbetween) drinking in London with my old man who is 68 next month. As he very matter of fact stated it might be the last cup final he will go to, my response was there is always next year!
