Just watched the feature on ITV news about the famous story if the cup being pinched.  What a bizarre story.

Just watched the feature on ITV news about the famous story if the cup being pinched.  What a bizarre story.

It was never proved to be true though. Harry Burge was not the most reliable of characters. I think it was in Denny Hodgetts pub, The Salutation Arms, that some of the coins made from the melted down cup were passed asross the bar for alcohol refreshment. That too is a good story,  Denny being one of the Villa great early players.

Is the 1895 final the one where they sometimes show a clip of Bruce Forsythe warming up the crowd before the game?

An old one I know - but we've still "lost" the FA Cup more times than lot from B10 have won it
