Benteke free kick vs QPR for me. Late in the game, brilliant individual skill, critical in the season and a great way to get a hattrick.

You know it's been a lean goal season when Sanchez vs Man City is in there.

Can't decide between Gil and Delph so Delph must edge it due to the opposition and the occasion.

That is true PWS, it is a good header.  I think you'd be hard pressed to see that in the top 10, in any other recent season though. I went with Gil's strike, with Benteke v Man U & Cleverley's v Everton a close second.

Considering we barely had a shot for half the season, I never expected this to get so difficult to choose!

Yeah, from 'Month of The Goal' jibes a few short months ago, it 's nice to see we banged in enough, good or otherwise, to have a competition for the best one.

I think Gil's is just magical, the deft touch and skip to bamboozle the defender and obviously the finish. Benteke's two in December were a tonic at such a lean time - it convinced me that Lambert was not the man when the Beast was scoring wonder-goals of his own making, yet Lambert couldn't get the team set-up to get the best out of him consistently.

I went for Cleverley v Everton, for the pass and run that created it as much as the finish.

Can't believe no one has picked Sinclair goal against the Bitters. Break away from edge of our box magic pass with vision by Jack then Scottie runs their entire half cuts in and just as you think he lost it - booooom. Quality curled shot that sends us to Wembley - against them fuckers!!!
Considering we have been so shit some very good goals in there.

If you want to really "feel" the goal watch the montage from the holte cam on official site - the heart stopping anticipation then orgasmic release is incredible

I think think it is the football equivalent of that moment in music when the bass drops out, and then 'boom' - drops right back in again!
