Just back from the game.
First trip to Southampton, and I'd put it right up there with Fulham and Norwich as my favourite away game. Easy to get to from London, the locals were all good-humoured and generous with their best wishes for Wembley, and the weather was glorious. And having celebrated our safety on the train back, it all felt rather zen-like by the end.

The less said about the ninety minutes of abso-f*cking-lute dross in the middle the better. Vlaar and Okore as a partnership is always a disaster waiting to happen. I'm praying for Senderos to be fit for next week.

We've managed to stay up and everything, but that was completely unacceptable.

Tim got sussed today, big time.

Agreed, thought their "are you on holiday" in response to our "is this a library" was good.

His four defenders all had a mare, that's all.  When they score 3 goals in 2 minutes because of  defensive fuck ups, I'm not sure tactics really come into it.

1981, last day of the season, lost 2-0 to the Arse but won the First Division Championship for the first time in 70 years, surreal.  Went on to win the European  Cup.

Lost today 6-1 and avoided relegation, again surreal.  Cup Final coming up in a couple of weeks time.  Do you wanna bet against us?

Come on you Lions!

I just can't believe how often we have these collapses. Far too often we concede and fall apart and the game is lost within a few minutes.

I thought we were completely out-fought and out-thought all over the pitch and the manager's tactics were exposed. We did not turn up and he didn't change anything.

At the same time, if it were not for Sherwood bringing some adventure to our play, we would have been down three weeks ago. However, he was sussed today.

If this was a commentary during Lambert's tenure I'd agree but it's the first time it has happened under Sherwood. I thought would happen vs Man City but it didn't. Today was just a bloody nightmare on all levels and it happened so fast I don't think anyone know what to do. We've all played the game at some level and sometimes when it starts to go to shit it's like being hit by a massive right hook. You just see stars and can't dodge the left that is following up.

What happened to the Villa who "outplayed and outfought" Liverpool at  Wembley only 4 weeks ago?...

But it's the same professional footballers it happens to. A pasting is one thing, that can happen to pretty much every side, it's the collapses in a pretty short time that i'm on about. There's been too many times it's happened to these players to be purely down to a manager/tactics.

Let's hope that was our 'bad' game out of the way in time for the FA Cup Final. I really had to show calmness and restraint today when trying to be wound up by assorted bluenoses who were on the same course as me.

Oh if you're pointing out this lot are mentally fragile, I won't disagree. In fact I think that's one of the things that has surprised me recently is that they were like beaten dogs when Sherwood found them yet we have found ways to become stronger very quickly. But there is still a fragility about them that's for sure but overall it has gotten a lot better.
